It’s funny to me when some foreigners are like “I cannot understand why people ship NLID”. Well, you’re bule, of course you cannot understand. This is OUR territory of which you are not privy to. That the biggest shippers of this is ship are actual Indonesians ourselves should’ve told you sth, and no, it’s not (only) because most people here love whites or something — we are not nearly like this about other whites by large, for comparison — but really it is because the Netherlands is intimately tied to our (modern) sense of who we are, for better or worse. Not all Indonesians are NLID shippers obviously, but I think all of us have internalized what I am talking about and know what I mean, to varying degrees. “But Netherlands is a colonizer!” Yeah and? Netherlands is still OURS by history. An asshole, but OUR asshole. And in that there is love. Like, please don’t impose your sense of morality on us, this is fandom and we only consult our boners here.

ace trappola + childe

I was thinking about the Ace + Childe edits I saw a few years back for an ASMR video (which has since spiraled into more edits of Childe in Ace’s various outfits, as well as Ace in Childe’s clothes), and… 💀

The thought crossed my mind of how cursed it would be if Ace went, “hey girlie” to us (if you identify that way) because 1) that totally sounds like something Ace would say to annoy others and 2) fuckboy energy Ace is sort of how I’ve envisioned his older brother so it’s weirdly fitting 😂
