NM4 looks to be designed by 1988 Katsuhiro Otomo Film, "Akira" fan.
It is categorized as foot forward power cruiser however it has rather smaller 670cc pararell twin engine. It shares the same motor with NC700 series and infact NM4 is referred as NC700J. Filled with Honda technology, handling is superb despite the laid back cruiser sitting style and its catalog claims the most fuel efficiency in the series, 67mpg.
Not too many motorcyclists dig Kaneda's bike or knew the existence so it was often described "Ugly" and mistaken as a scooter,( it's equipped with 6 speed dual clutch, semi automatic DCT, which enbles you to operate it in fully automatic mode, or in the manual-shift/auto-clutch mode.) it was rather an odd bike; wasn't quite a hit bike that Honda wanted to nurture new riders with.
