How to Strengthen Your Military Family
1. What is the National Military Family Association?
The National Military Family Association (NMFA) serves the families of active, retired, wounded, and fallen members of all military branches. The association aims to strengthen and protect families through advocacy efforts and programs such as spouse scholarships, camps for military kids, and retreats for families.
2. How will NMFA help me?
Since 1969, NMFA has advocated for military family benefits. NMFA also supports military families through a variety of programs and services, including:
Military Spouse Scholarship Program. Offers funding and scholarships to military spouses to help them pursue an education or career.
Operation Purple Program. Provides free camps and wilderness retreats to military children and families, including Guard families, to encourage bonding and meaningful connections through outdoor activities and communication workshops.
3. What tips does NMFA have for me?
Get outside together. NMFA encourages military families to get active and make memories together. Register for a family retreat or try planning a fun outdoor activity to bond as a family.
Follow your passion. Do you dream of being a yoga instructor, a dietician, or starting your own business? Check out NMFA’s Military Spouse Scholarship Program to help you achieve your career goals.
Take charge of your family’s health and wellness. Whether it’s finding an active hobby to do together or advocating for policies concerning military families, NMFA encourages families to invest in their health and wellness.
