i mean... the two definitions of "incubator" in the literal sense are:

an enclosed apparatus providing a controlled environment for the care and protection of premature or unusually small babies

an apparatus used to hatch eggs or grow microorganisms under controlled conditions

while i don't think kyubey is a baby, egg, or microorganism, he's essentially getting the same benefits hiding out in there. protection and a controlled environment. i guess you could count the fusion between them as a form of growing. and her skull cracks like an egg.......
