💋 I mean, that's a lovely bonus, but I certainly don't expect a response. I just hope they know I enjoyed what they shared.

🌻 At this point two years ago, I actually had a planned exit from fandom. I was going to finish my WIPs and then disappear. And if I didn't finish my WIPs, oh well. I wasn't feeling it anymore, and I was stressed, and posting on FFN was annoying but on AO3 I was less known and it's a bit weird to go from getting 50-60 reviews per post to like...6? And that's fine, honestly. I write for me and I'm still so, so lucky because so many of you are still so kind to read my stuff.

All this to say, I stayed because of my friends here, encouraging me and collaborating with me and cheering me on. I would miss that connection. I feel very lucky.

👾 Hmm, I don't think I've encountered that - at least not to the meaning I'm associating with this question. However, absolutely no one guessed right on who was running The Vine in Not Much Longer Would You Be Mine. So that's a treat. (Also, my laptop is too old for whatever emoji this question was, so I picked a random one!)

STELLAAAAAA. 

7.  Share a snippet from one of your favorite pieces of prose you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

Regardless, the ending is always the same.

A woman only brought death, destruction and madness, and so this woman – the very first – was thrown overboard. Legs bound and weighted. She sank, deep into the sea. Deeper, and deeper, and deeper.

But her rage was fierce. Her desire to live immeasurable. Her longing for revenge a palpable taste within the salty sea. She called upon the Gods, demanding her due. The Gods rarely listened, but that day they did.

They call the woman Midoriko, Witch of the Unnatural Sea.

A curse-bringer to any woman thrown overboard, tied at the ankles and left to drown. The watery depths would surround them, take them, transform them—

The women would not die, but they would wish for it.

I’m not sure if I’ve ever been super fond of my prose, but I do like this one. It’s not yet published, though it will be in a couple of weeks. It’s from Nepenthe, my mermaid AU. It’s a bit dark, a bit fantastical. I like the abruptness of this, whether that’s good writing or not XD

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

He watched as she packed up her books and then leaned against her desk. Kagome looked at him and smiled, waiting.

Not everyone saw, but by the time he got to her it was evident students were hanging back, just to witness what would happen. He raised a brow at her, a thousand questions on hold. Kagome responded with a quiet laugh and led the way out of the classroom.

“Walk me to Geography,” she said.

“What was yesterday about?” he hissed, voice low.

Kagome turned, walking backwards so she could face him when she said, “Nobody likes whirlwind romances.”

Not Much Longer Would You Be Mine was such a difficult story to write because each section could only be 100 words, so dialogue always had to be right to the point and worth it. It really challenged me to make you feel the dynamics between Inuyasha and Kagome, with basically no dialogue at all.

C: What character do you identify with most?

Hmmm. Without a doubt, I put a tiny piece of myself into the main characters of each story I write, so it probably shifts though I would guess it’s more Kagome than the rest.

That Flesh of Mine is absolutely Kagome. Same with How to Kill Me, Instance, Not Much Longer Would You Be Mine and Drowning in the Night.

Weirdly, I identify with Miroku in Deductions? No idea why. And Sango was pretty much my only rock-solid strength in Happiness.

For Inuyasha, Tell Me I’m Crazy, The Truth About Love, and Kairos.

...So I’m all over the map.
