The thing I especially love about the views of space from the space station side rooms, other than when they are pretty, is that it really highlights how everything is *actually* placed in real simulated space. the planet isnt placed in a window view for aesthetic reasons, its that this is the direction the window is physically pointing, and the planet or other space objects happen to be physically there, and you can look at it and decide to go to it and that is the direction you would go. It's not a generated jpeg drawing info from the planet categories in the system, it's the actual view from an impersonally-placed window. The outside is the same size as the inside. Its the same feeling of physicality that you get from being able to follow an individual ship around the system and for them to be the same entitity throughout, having their own routes and decisions to land in one place or another. Makes the whole simulation feel like real toys, a real orrery that you are actually playing with. The window view reminds me of this in such a delightful way and I like to take a moment to stand in the quiet and enjoy it. you dont get that so much in any other building.
