          “do you remember what you said to me before my surgery?” lee doesn’t sound sad at all, just curious, sitting beside his mentor while they enjoy a hearty, protein-packed lunch. while the chair gai sits in has done little to limit the beast of a man’s vibrance and gusto, it always reminds lee of those moments he told himself to say goodbye. the moments he saw the red beast.

          “that you would follow me, no matter what happened? it has been something i held very dear to my heart since you said it!”

i fuckin love this ship you have no idea it has some really sweet memories in it for me and i just. something about rivals to lovers is the trope that kills the shi. there’s a lot of unspoken potential between lee and neji’s relationship, as i do feel like he is a force for neji to become ‘better’ like naruto? kishi never expresses it but i feel it, man.

i’ve never explored it as most tenten interactions i’ve had were very family-like. they care for each other, that’s obvious, and i could maybe see them becoming closer over mutual loss in the war. basically idk, i’ve never done it but it does seem plausible if the circumstances add up.

Those eyebrows.  Just look at them... They’re like two very large caterpillars that are stuck in place. But-- that’s incredibly rude to say, and not a good way to start off when Ace finds himself in an unfamiliar setting. This place seemed so quiet, so uniform.

He has to wonder-- where the hell is he, even? A better question, too: where did he leave Striker?

"Just curious. I have to know. Do those ever catch on fire while you’re cooking?” He gestures to poor Gai, more specifically to his eyebrows. “Not pointing fun, I just have to know.”

She was intending to find Chouza, as she had news for him, but it wasn’t urgent enough to be rude to the young man in front of her.
