restoring my HP @ the creek
A pair of Titan Acorn Barnacles (Megabalanus coccopoma) sitting on the shoreline at Fingal Beach in Northern New South Wales. You can see a few barnacles attached to the Titan Acorns. Barnacles on barnacles! These barnacles originate from Central and South America from Mexico to Ecuador and have recently made their way to our shores by hitching a ride on cargo ships. The bright pink really caught my eye as I haven't ever seen them here before. The species was first described by Darwin in 1854. Studies are ongoing to determine how invasive this species may be to the local environment. #Fingal #Beach #Lighthouse #Beachcombing #Northernnewsouthwales #NNSW #Barnacles #MarineLife #Wandering #Macro #Canon5DMkIV
