All in all, I’m having about as good an anniversary as I can, considering my husband’s still in Canada for work.

A post about my experiences forming Help the Lawyers, LLC. And thoughts on where we are headed.
The founder of Help The Lawyers is fundraising so that she can continue to work 24-7 to defeat the Travel Ban and any other future ILLEGAL EXECUTIVE ORDERS.

Kind of needed this at the moment- pride and unity are more important than ever now. Don’t stop fighting.
(These are all pride flags but this is to everyone who feels threatened by trump and the political atmosphere right now)

My America Builds Bridges, not this Fucking Wall
I just signed a petition to The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate: Donald Trump's decision to seat right-wing white nationalist Steve Bannon on the National Security Council, while downgrading the standing of our military and intelligence leaders, is dangerous for America and the world. Congress must be a check on this dangerous politicization of our nation's security and immediately act to keep Steve Bannon off the National Security Council.
Calls You Need to Make Today to Continue the Resistance
Here’s an email I got from The Nation:
It’s been a whirlwind two weeks so we’ll get straight to the point: as Nation writers Mark Hertsgaard and Joan Walsh have detailed, our calls to Congress and protests are working. Now it’s critical to keep it up if we’re going to block any of Trump’s terrifying cabinet appointments. That said, here are your assignments: 1) Last weekend, the Trump administration announced that Stephen Bannon, a white supremacist, would sit on the National Security Council (NSC). The Southern Poverty Law Center sent out an email yesterday to alert its supporters that the Senate Committee on Homeland Security was taking and tallying calls regarding Bannon’s appointment. Today and this weekend, call 202-224-4751. Express your outrage politely and make clear you expect the committee to take an immediate stand against Bannon’s appointment. 2) Two Republican senators recently announced that they would oppose Betsy DeVos as education secretary. Now the Democrats need only one more vote to block her appointment. Our friends at Student Debt Crisis have compiled a list of Republican senators who they believe could be on the fence. See if your senators are on the list and make a call. 3) Senator Jeff Sessions was already denied a federal judgeship in the 1980s for being too racist, yet in 2017 he could become our Attorney General. Call 877-959-6082 to demand that your senators block his appointment.
