Kyle and Sam during 2Spooky October
The controller in your hands was suddenly very slick and on the verge of actually falling out of your grip sue to the slight shakiness that had settled in. As you carefully moved your character on screen you couldn’t help but wonder how it was that you had found yourself in the position. On your right, Kyle was positively smug as he rattled on with some sort of nonsense while Sam, who was on your right, was sitting further back on the couch almost keeping himself hidden behind his microphone.
“Y/N, go check that mirror,” Kyle instructed, a hidden laugh in his tone.
You cut your eyes in his direction and huffed, “Gee, Kyle, why would you want me to do that?”
“Because a scary monster is gonna get your butt,” Sam laughed as he shifted in his seat.
With a reluctant sigh, you rolled your eyes at both of them before making your way over to the mirror that Kyle had indicated. You moved slowly and swung your camera around to inspect the area with every step that you took. However almost as soon as you stopped in front of the mirror all of the lights in the room went out.
“Oh, cool cool cool,” you mumbled as you backed your character up, “No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.”
Both Sam and Kyle laughed from other side of you and you rolled your eyes as you attempted to make your way back out of the room. Strange noises came filtering in through your headphones and you had to stop for a moment. You held the controller out towards Sam and huffed loudly.
“Take it, Sam… I can’t do this shit,” you whined, shaking it at him.
Sam groaned and took the controller from you with a sigh, “Fine, fine.”
Almost immediately, Sam stepped out of the room and was attacked by whatever had been stalking you for the last ten minutes. Both you and Sam let out frightened shouted and you all but collapsed against Kyle’s side. Sam set the controller down on the couch and ducked his head down to hold it in his hands.
He took a deep breath and finally picked his head back up to look over at you and Kyle, who was at this point starting trying to hold back a laugh. “That’s bullshit and you know it!” Sam finally exclaimed, motioning over to the screen where the progress had been set back quite a ways. You let out a slight whine and let your head fall back against the sofa and your eyes to close.
You playfully rolled your eyes at Abby before you turned your attention back to both Brett and Aleks. It was the last round of Mafia and, somehow, you had ended up being one of the members of the mafia for the third time since starting the game. Everyone else had either been killed by the mafia or by mistake and it was not just down to the three of you.
They had managed to kill James who was your partner in the mafia and you knew that Aleks or Brett had to be the investigator, so you needed to get one of them out as soon as possible. “I’m a civilian and I’m just trying to take back my town of La Bronx,” Brett said in his awful fake accent as he adjusted the chef’s hat on his head.
“Look, it has to be Samuel,” you said, pointing your prop gun at Aleks, “He killed Harris to get out from under his thumb and now he’s trying to take all the land Harris was after.”
Aleks raised both of his hands in exasperation, “It is not me… It is you.”
“Me? Okay, sure,” you scoffed and looked back at Brett, “C’mon, Meatball… if we get rid of Samuel we save La Bronx and we can spend all night at the club.”
For a moment, it appeared as though Brett was thinking everything through you were just a little worried that he would see through you lies and turn on you. But he quickly picked up his own prop gun and aimed it at Aleks. “Sorry, Samuel… no hard feelings,” he said, shrugging. The both of you quickly pulled your triggers and Aleks, very dramatically, flailed around in his chair until he was sufficiently dead.
“Well, with Samuel killed in cold blood it is obvious that Y/N was, in fact, a member of the Mafia and the civilians lose the game,” Abby said into the microphone from her seat.
James clapped both of his hands as you threw your arms up in triumph and laughed loudly. Brett, however, looked upset. “Why do you keep lying to me?” he fumed, “Three goddamn times you were the mafia and three goddamn times you either killed me or fucking lied to my face.”
You shrugged your shoulder and pointed your gun at Brett with a grin, “Sorry, meatball, that’s just how the games goes.”
Before you had gotten on the train, you were sure that you weren’t all that tired. However, almost as soon as the locomotive started to pull away, you had passed out with your head on Jakob’s shoulder. Which is why, when you were being stirred awake you were a little discombobulated and unsure of where exactly you were. It was dark, even with the lights of the cabin, and everyone around you looked as tired as you felt.
“C’mon, up and at ‘em,” Brett said from beside you.
You huffed softly and shook your head, “I don’t wanna.”
Without another word, you felt yourself being lifted into the air and carried out of the train car. Somehow, in the trip from the train to the car and back to the warehouse, you must have fallen back asleep because when you finally came to you were laying on one of the couches while everyone else was unpacking.
Slowly, you sat up and ruffled your hair, “How did we get here?”
“Brett carried you like a lifeless corpse,” Asher said as he walked by, “If you didn’t wake up soon we were going to leave you here all weekend.”
You shook your head and slowly got to your feet, “I blame Andy and those damn four lokos.”
“No one forced you to drink two full cans, my dude,” Aleks laughed as he came around the corner, “C’mon… I’ll take you home so you don’t pass out in a Lyft.”
Giving him a look you, shoved at his shoulder, “You’re supposed to be nice to me, Aleks. You’re my best friend.”
“I am being nice, bro. I was gonna stop for some food on the way but if you wanna call yourself a ride,” he started to say as he walked off towards the open garage door. You looked around and spotted your backpack on the floor next to you and quickly scooped it up. You called Aleks’ name and hurried after him on unsure and tipsy feet. He didn’t stop but slowed down enough for you to catch up which you were thankful for.
You leaned against his side as you walked towards his car, “Can we stop for chicken nuggies?”
“Sure thing, man,” he laughed, opening the passenger door.
I hate you. You’re everywhere, I can’t escape you

“This fucking sucks,” Michael said in a low voice from beside you. You glanced over at him and let out a small chuckle before nodding your head and looking back at the monitor in front of you. Somehow you got roped into playing a few rounds of Dead by Daylight with Ryan as the killer; you and Michael were the only survivors left and at this point it just felt like Ryan was toying with you.
You could hear the heartbeat in the game getting louder and you looked around, seeing a looming figure coming up behind Michael’s character as you both worked on a generator. “Scatter!” you yelled, turning your character and bolting in the opposite direction. Michael yelled and made some sort of gurgling noise. “Michael, did he get you?” you asked looking around, trying to find somewhere to hide.
“Don’t worry, (Y/N), he’s gonna be nice and comfortable on this hook,” Ryan laughed manically.
Michael tapped at his keyboard repetitively, trying desperately to wiggle free. Though, it was useless. “Get out of here, (Y/N)! Find the hatch! Don’t let him win,” Michael all but screamed as his character struggled on the hook.
Slowly, you came out of hiding and almost immediately spotted Ryan hulking towards you. “Fuck!” you yelled, trying to run the opposite direction but you heard the chimes indicating he had turned invisible. You let out a groan and started to skulk around the area, looking for the hatch in the ground. You rounded a corner and saw the shimmer of Ryan’s cloaked figure directly in front of you.
“I hate you,” You screamed, making Ryan laugh, “You’re everywhere, I can’t escape you.”
Ryan laughed harder and you heard the chimes again. “That’s the point, (Y/N), you’re never going to escape,” he said. You huffed and climbed into a closet, “You’re a creepy mother fucker, Ryan.”
Because even if it hurts, I can’t bear to see you unhappy.

“You need to go,” Geoff said softly, nodding his head as he folded his hands together on the table in front of him. You took a deep breath and let it out slowly as you glanced between the three men sitting in front of you. You really hated this and were dreading having this conversation but you knew deep down that it was the right thing to do.
Trevor nodded and sighed, glancing at Luis and then you, “It’ll be good for you.”
Your heart suddenly felt heavy as the situation fully dawned on you. This was it, you were leaving Rooster Teeth; you were leaving Achievement Hunter. This place had been your home for years and now you were leaving. “It’s not that I’m dying to go,” you finally murmured, scoffing softly, “But something… something is missing and I think this opportunity might be it.”
“We’re going to miss you, (Y/N), but I agree with Geoff and Trevor, this is something you need to do,” Luis said, nodding and giving you a sad sort of smile.
Geoff ran a hand over his neck and sighed, fixing his gaze on you. “If you give up on this opportunity you’re going to hate yourself. I can’t let that happen. You’ve been here with us for so long you are our family and we encourage our family to do what they need to do,” he explained, “Because even if it hurts, I can’t bear to see you unhappy.”
Both Trevor and Luis nodded their heads in agreement and you had to blink back tears, trying to remain as professional as possible about this whole thing.
“Thank you, really,” you said, “I’m going to miss you guys.”
