"Stop being stubborn, I'm trying to help you." - Marcel
A pained hiss passed his lips as Marcel began patching up the wound on his back. Alex had been careless; and the enemy, a coward. Each time cloth touched the wound, he winced and tried to jerk away. “It’s not even that bad,” he hissed quietly through gritted teeth. A simple stab wound to the back, a wound that wouldn’t have him bleeding out anytime soon.
“I’d rather be fighting.” Honestly, if he hadn’t been dragged off the battlefield, he would still be fighting. He could fight through the pain. His uniform would be ruined, sure, but it wouldn’t be the first time he had to get blood out of his clothes. Unless he lost a limb or a vital organ was hit, he should still be on the field.
As many grievances as he had with the whole situation, he couldn’t stay mad. Marcel was looking out for him and trying to prolong his life. Squeezing his eyes shut, he stayed quiet the rest of the time it took to patch him up. No amount of whining or complaining was going to make this any faster, after all. And when Marcel was finished, when Alex could finally put his armor back on and take off back to the battlefield, a cheerful “...thank you!” could be heard trailing off behind him.
