I’m curious…

What are your 5 most loved Disney Movies you grew up with? And why…?

I’ll start:

1. The emperor’s New Groove - felt Kusco related and loved Kronk. For me THE ADHD (and autism) related Disney movie. And: adventure without princesses.

2. Hercules - how to be a “real man” / NOT to be a toxic dude? (for me unconsciously non-binary/trans related)…and YES! Hades rules! And: adventure without princesses.

3. Mulan - failing on being a “good girl/women” / “wedding material” (for me unconsciously non-binary/trans related) And: adventure without princesses …I know, Mulan is listed as Disney-Princess, but tbh: that’s so false.

4. Mary Poppins - feminism, “how to revolt against stupid men, stupid adults and social norms” and: adventure without princesses. Also, always wanted to live the streetartist/chimney sweeper-life of Bert.

4. The Lions King - how to handle death, loss and growing up “on you’re own”. Big Rafiki-love! And also…yep you got it!: adventure without princesses.

YES I’m a 90s kid! 😆

I’m aware of many problematic traits of Disney (cultural appropriation, bad working conditions etc.) Nevertheless I grew up with the movies, they've got good sides too though. And they gave and still do give me much comfort.

Also haven’t listet “A nightmare before Christmas” because it’s NOT a Disney movie! (Otherwise it would on the top of the list.)

You might recognize my name from My Little Pony and Womanthology published with IDW Publishing or many of my sketch card sets like Marvel, DC Comics, Walking Dead and more! I'm asking for your help to reprint copies of my Faux Facts - The Truth Can Be Strange! graphic novel series. It features a group of friends where crazy things happen to them like junk food nightmares, 80s cartoon characters come to life killer starfish etc after a former friend gets involved in some magical chaos.

All work has been completely updated and brand new! No old art has been saved and it has been completely re-lettered and laid out in a new format. I'm asking for your help to get the books printed.
