Just saw a fake relationship prompt while thinking about wangxian (as usual) and realized that would be the height of miscommunication tropes for those two. I see four main ways they would get into a fake relationship entirely through miscommunications:

1. Basically canon: Wei Wuxian is totally all about about this fake relationship thing because he is entirely unaware of his own feelings. Lan Wangji isn’t faking anything but is absolutely certain Wei Wuxian isn’t really interested in him. (cue confessions and incredible relief a la the novel)

2. Almost canon: Lan Wangji legitimately thinks they’re dating but Wei Wuxian thinks it’s a fake relationship. Lan Wangji has no idea he’s been so fundamentally misunderstood until Wei Wuxian reaches some kind of breaking point. (Wei Wuxian’s tendency for both self-delusion and self-sacrifice is quite high so this might take a while. Possibly up into a fake wedding trope in an extreme case -- WWX, crying: I really do want to marry you though!! LWJ: Wei Ying we we’ve been married for weeks, what are you talking about).

3. Canon-adjacent: Wei Wuxian tries to ask Lan Wangji out but panics halfway through and laughs it off and is then surprised at Lan Wangji’s very polite acceptance. Both of them now think it’s a fake relationship but are settling for what they can get (a classic).

4. Potentially hilarious: Lan Sizhui, very well-meaning teenager, eventually lets slip that he thinks they’re together and is happy for them, and they both start faking it because they know the other will agree to Not Disappointing Sizhui, so they settle for that instead. Lan Sizhui watches in horror as this spirals out of control, Wen Ning smiles in awkward silence, Lan Jingyi eats loudly crunchy snacks. (Could also be prompted by Lan Xichen, but Wen Ning’s enthusiastic-but-awkward support and Lan Jingyi eating snacks as this implodes are an absolute must.)

Don't need to answer this. I just wanted to thank you for focusing on pictures only about Sophia and avoiding all the drama. I am not much of fan of her SO, and it's utterly annoying seeing people only talk about her private life.

I know you said I don't need to answer you but I'm going to anyway. I try to avoid drama. I want my page to be about her and not rumors or drama. Okay can I just say something

If you are dating someone and break up because he/she is not feeling the love between you two anymore DON'T be a bitch about it when he/she finds someone new I have to keep new relationship with my new boyfriend quiet because his ex spread a nasty rumor around and my mother heard about it and thinks it's true and thus we have to act like friends around her and it hurts us emotionally Please don't spread rumors. Rumors don't just hurt the person whom you said it about it hurts the people that get close to the person.
