Left tunnel, the lessers path
While curious of where the Arcanine is headed you guess that the place most likely connects in other parts. You turn and take the left tunnel you saw the red eyed shadow go down. The chances of running into it are high but its probably something that can’t hurt you. As torchlight spills into the tunnel its obvious that this section was not made nicely, possibly on purpose. The soft dirt from the cave entrance is replaced with gravel, with stones in it aren’t sharp but it is colder to step on. Speaking of cold, its actually a touch warmer in this tunnel... does that make sense?
Whatever the case you walk down the tunnel keeping an eye out for anything of interest, and those see through Arcanines. Its not long before you come up to several tunnels to the left and right, three on each side. They are quite close to each other and must have been dug like this on purpose. Turning to the first one on the left the tunnel goes not too far and opens to a opening. Before you walk in, however, something on the wall catches your attention. In the side of the wall is a carving, a Victreebel and Bellsprouts. Why is something like that here?
Looking on the tunnel becomes a small cave, its just big enough to house the Pokemon that are carved into the wall just outside maybe. Its longer than it is wide with a small hole in the farthest wall. A little sunlight comes in from outside, a long stone sits next to the hole. The stone itself has been hollowed out and lowered so even a Bellsprout would be able to reach. Was it used for water? Is this where these Grass Pokemon living? Why?
You leave the small cave and go towards the one that was on your right. A carving of Rattata and a Raticate are on next to this one. Looking in the small cave is the same shape as the other but without the sunlight hole. Instead there is a long burnt out torch in this one. And, oh, there’s hole in the farthest wall and there’s dirt piled around it. Upon examining it the tunnel goes upwards but seems to have collapsed at some point. So the Raticate dug out of here, and the Rattata most likely joined them, but why did they do this... whenever they did? It might have to do with what happened here.
The next two of the six tunnels also lead to small caves, similar to the last. One has a carving of Pidgeys and a pair of Pidgeots and the other is Digletts and Dugtrio. The fifth is... collapsed, the entrance and half the tunnel is buried in stone. Whatever was here must have fought back and settled for a draw. Turning around you move to the sixth and last of these tunnels. Of course the cave is the same as the other four, but what is carved here? Its two Sentrets and several Furrets? That seems off, at least compared to the others. Why did this one have so many of the evolved stage here? A question that won’t be answered here at least.
Turning down the main tunnel you can’t help but wonder what else is here, and why is it a little stuffy this way?
