(izuku grew up with b@kugou, as b@kugou's main victim, and, unlike b@kugou may have, would not have any built in protection from loud noises so those explosions would almost absolutely damage izuku's hearing)
Midoriya wears hearing aids. Ochako noticed the first day and mentally tucked it away. Iida did to and other then asking if Midoriya prefered sign, nothing more was said.
He was still strong and capable. The relief Midoriya had on his face when Ochako said that, Iida agreeing, made her day.
Midoriya didn’t draw attention to his hearing aids or talk about them at all really. Ochako would ask but it seemed (frankly) to be to personal. After her shunning at school for pressing others Ochako had promised to keep her mouth shut.
The people in class who notice… well Ochako has to giggle and smirk at times.
Jirou saw and had tried to sneak up on Midoriya during a training exercise only to get pulverized. Kirishima had started talking really loud until Midoriya told him ‘You’re being so unmanly.’
Todoroki just got his ass kicked hard during the sports festival (Ochako did know the story behind that one. Apparently Todoroki said he didn’t know how someone ‘broken’ did so well. Turns out it was more ignorance than cruelty but she and Iida did give the guy a dressing down and education after that. He shaped up at least!) while Sero got humiliated during training.
Ochako never really thought about it other than those moments and making sure to get Midoriya’s attention before talking. Not until the day at the mall.
A blonde boy had seen Midoriya. He came stomping over.
“DEKU YOU FUCKING LIAR!” He screamed. “YOU BROKEN FUCK! YOU LIED SO I WOULDNT GET IN!”
“You didn’t get into UA because it was revealed you purposely blew your hands close enough to my ears to make me hard of hearing,” Midoriya’s replied. “It’s your own fault.”
The boy threw himself at Midoriya who fought back without his Quirk while Ochako called the police. The boy was dragged away in cuffs, screaming.
“Who was that?” Ochako asked nervously.
“Bakugou Katsuki.” Midoriya’s only response was.
It wasn’t hard to find the news article. Midoriya already was only a late bloomer and False Negative.
