Part 4 of the CCRP!Melissa and PEIP!Paul saga. Previous posts here and here.

Melissa was tired.

In the past 4 months she had done the following:

Gone undercover as the office secretary in the technical department for the company she owns in order to observe Paul.

Gone undercover as a singing barista to monitor Paul's caffeine intake.

Discovered she looked exactly like Bill's daughter, kidnapped her and taken her place in order to try and gain more information on Paul.

Stole a Greenpeace vest in order to gauge more information on what makes Paul tick.

At some point she even pretended to be a cop, but that was an accident involving a rogue ice cream van and had been unrelated to work.

She was exhausted. And no closer to getting Paul ready for the cloning programme.

It felt like a vacation when she got to spend a day just sat in her office, not playing the role of someone in that Paul's life. Why did she pick him anyway? She could have picked any of that team.

Except she couldn't. Paul was maleable. Perfect. If only she could just find those last bits of information she needed. She needed to understand what was going on in that brain.

She heard the knock on the door from where she sat behind her desk, head in her arms.

"Ma'am. There's been some new information come to light about Paul."

A piece of paper was slid towards her, and she glanced down at the report, one word immediately jumping out at her.

PEIP

"Well, well, well... looks like it's time to begin the cloning process."
