Previously on No Sleep 'Til Nashville, they settled into their motel.

Mickey cracked the bathroom door as he showered, fogging up the motel room.

Ian sat on the bed, still for the first time tonight. He felt warmth. Pain. Adrenaline let-down.

Mickey’s silhouette moved behind the curtain. A hint. A tease. An invitation.

What if … Ian pulled the curtain back?

He could feel those sturdy shoulders, that smooth skin. Trace his tongue along the water droplets. Grab that thick … hair.

What if Mickey dropped his guy and took Ian on? Then what?

Would Mickey get tired of him?

Desire. Curiosity. Potential. Ian’s thoughts swirled like water.

… then the shower clicked off.

even i think this is one of the saddest things i've written...i've thought long and hard abt the prompt, "21 Questions" by Waterparks from @ace-of-d1am0nds, for @galladrabbles, and i think this fits well!

Orange jumpsuit, grey walls. That's Mickey's daily life. Counting stitches on his thinner-than-6'' mattress or doodling on scraps, while daydreaming about life beyond bars. Preferably, one with Ian.

When Ian finally comes back to visit him on Mickey's 21st birthday, he's wary with his heart to his throat.

Ian tells him he broke up with his boyfriend. That he will wait.

He should be over the moon, but can they have a normal relationship while he's locked up? Isn't he selfish and stupid for chaining Ian to him, when he was just begging to leave?

He mutters, "Forget about me."
