It's been way too long... Thank you for the lovely prompt, dear David @katicusdramaticus - looks like it stirred something in me 🥰 Paging @galladrabbles 😎

A tiny house right on the beach. Fishing in the morning, tending the bar in the afternoon. Knowing everybody in the village and everybody knowing him.
A good, simple life.
Interrupted on a random Tuesday morning – sometimes, the ocean offers more than driftwood.
A dude, naked, lying face-first in the sand.
Not a local.
He pokes him in the ribs with his toe. The guy stirs and grunts, then slowly turns on his back.
‘You okay, man?’
Wide eyes, as green as sea lettuce, fix him. His mouth opens – a sharp trill, followed by several clicks.
I'm off work sick today and almost forgot to get my last minute drabble in... But here's a little something for @galladrabbles , set in the Gravitational Pull universe, in the "present day" timeline of Constant Acceleration. (Doesn't contain spoilers, just means they're already together)
-----
Sometimes when he thinks of home, he means Earth. Chicago, and the old crowded house he grew up in, even though it's long been sold.
Sometimes coming home means docking at Notos station. The temporary quarters where he stays between cargo runs. Family nearby. Rest and recuperation.
Sometimes it's returning to the Fiona Gallagher, the rickety ship he lives and works and scrambles up and down in for five months at a time.
But more and more, coming home means slipping into bed beside the grumpy mechanic he loves more than he ever thought possible. These days, home means Mickey.
@galladrabbles I don’t know if this is a hill I plan to die on, but I just think we deserved more Larry Seaver.
Larry Seaver parks outside 2119 North Wallace. “Are you sure this is where you’ll be, Mr. Milkovich? Your last known address—”
“You ever hear of Terry Milkovich, Larry?”
The PO gulps. ‘Nuff said.
“Would you wanna crash with him?”
“No, but records indicate that this is your former cellmate’s residence.”
“Yeah, we’re cohabitating.” Mickey step out of the car. “Got a problem?”
“Generally former inmates living together is frowned upon. You two aren’t planning on doing anything illegal, are you?”
“Just sodomy.”
Seaver blushes bright as a tomato. “Beg your pardon?”
“Where are those hand puppets? I can demonstrate.”
this weeks @galladrabbles prompt from @dreamjupiter was "Feral"
“I don’t get it, Vee. Those Milkovich kids are like a pack of feral dogs.”
Ian paused on his way down the stairs, needing to hear the rest.
“I know, Fi, but Ian’s a kind-hearted kid, always has been. Maybe he just feels sorry for them?”
“I don’t want him to get hurt. They’re gonna lash out one of these days.”
Sinking down to sit on the step, Ian couldn’t help but shake his head. Mickey and Mandy, feral? Tough, sure. Snarky and crude sometimes, yeah. But feral?
They were soft as kittens on the inside. And they were his.
Time to unleash all your creativity and imagine what would happen if Ian and Mickey's story was a little bit different... or maybe A LOT different: it's A.U.gust!
For this event, all kinds of fanworks are accepted as long as they're original (and as always, no AI). They can be full on A.U.s, canon-divergent, crossovers, you name it!
Themes are below and all you have to do is post in the assigned day (any time, screw time zones) and @ this blog so that we can see it and reblog it. If your fanwork fits more than one day, please post on the day for the last theme that applies. Missed the day? No problem! Just post it on the last day. Last day is also for anything that doesn't fit any of the themes, so if you have an idea that's not mentioned, fret not, you can still post it!
There will also be an AO3 community (link coming soon) for those who want to post there.
See you soon!

Thank you to @runninonemptyy for this week's @galladrabbles prompt...
I've been so focused on Gallavich week and trying to stay cool in the heatwave that I didn't have any ideas for this, so this one is brought to you by an anime opening song lyric and first scene I happened to look up and see while my husband was watching... 🤷🏻♀️

Mickey stares at the target and lifts his bow, nocking an arrow and drawing the string back. He's laser-focused; eye to hand to target. Aim and shoot. So intent that he sees the feathers flutter as the arrow flies true.
Thunk.
Bullseye.
He smiles, satisfied, and reaches for another arrow.
"Those are real feathers," a voice observes. "You make your own arrows?"
Irritation flashes through Mickey as he turns. Then it vanishes when his gaze alights on the best looking guy he's seen outside of a magazine.
"Uh, yeah," he replies, belly suddenly full of a different kind of fluttering.
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME AND THANK YOU FOR CREATING THINGS DURING GALLAVICH WEEK I'LL CATCH UP WITH EVERYTHING FROM NOW ON (sorrysorrysorry) THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE FANDOM SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PLACE I LOVE YOU ALL
Continuing my theme of crack AUs that (loosely) hit the theme, here is a Pygmalion/My Fair Lady AU...
Pride
The library was vast to Mickey, more books than he'd ever seen in one place. And this was just the guy's house. He swallowed and pushed his shoulders back, standing tall, focusing on the gentleman, Professor Gallagher, instead of the sumptuous surroundings.
The redheaded professor was standing near a golden trumpet, attached to some kind of machine, but when he looked up and saw Mickey his shoulders slumped in disappointment.
"Oh. It's you. I got notes on your accent last night. I'm not going to waste a recording on it. You can go."
He gestured, dismissive, and turned away, towards the curly-haired man who stood on the other side of the room.
"Hey," Mickey said, not prepared to take no for an answer so quickly. "You can't just turf me out without even hearing what I came for. I got a taxi all the way over here."
"Why do I care how you got here?" Gallagher replied.
Mickey snorted, weight shifting to one foot as he scanned the Professor up and down, rolling his eyes at his fancy suit and his shocking attitude.
"Proud, huh? Well not too proud to give lessons. That's what you said, right? But if my money's not good enough, I can take it elsewhere."
Gallagher frowned in confusion and shrugged.
"Good enough for what?"
"For you, asshole. I want lessons. Like you said last night."
"Lessons for what?"
"I want a job. A better one. But all the good indoor jobs need guys who can talk like a fuckin' toff. You said you could teach me. So were you for real or are you just another shit-talking asshole in shiny shoes?"

I did consider Pride and Prejudice, but there is already an excellent fic of that in the fandom and I'm not familiar enough with the source material to do it justice. Then I considered Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but pretty much same problem. Lion King? (Lions live in Prides, get it?) Well I didn't want to do another animal AU...
Then I heard Audrey Hepburn's voice in my head "Ow, you are proud" from My Fair Lady and scoured the internet for a Pygmalion script to figure out what scene it came from. 😆
