Happy Birthday, Galladrabbles!

Our little blog is turning 3 !!!

We're so happy to be able to celebrate this milestone with you all - you're the ones who make this weekly writing challenge so much fun and who brought us to the amazing number which Evie posted yesterday!

So today we're kicking off the @galladrabbles birthday week (our actual birthday is on Friday) with our prompt for you:

GALLAVICH CELEBRATES GALLADRABBLES!

Let's break down the fourth wall and imagine Ian and Mickey are aware of "us" - the fans, the writers, the blogs and want to join into the fun. With cake (recipes are always welcome!), a party, gifts...whateverthefuck... for us all.

Two-part Galladrabbles catch-up

Last week's @galladrabbles prompt from the mods was breaking the fourth wall (so so creative!). This week's from @lingy910y is "Jailer" by Kevin Atwater (ugh, such a gorgeous song).

How do you ask for one's hand when you yearn for another?

Ian stalled.

Viviette dined in a chaste mint-green sequined dress. She cast coy gazes at Ian, playing her part to perfection. Irony was, if Ian had to marry a woman, he could do far worse than her.

Dozens of beady eyes watched. Judged. Expected. He felt the pressure of this moment, of his entire lifetime. Future generations would turn his words into legend. He felt watched by outside, timeless forces.

At dessert, Mickey slunk into the dining hall. 

Ian could breathe again. He stood and raised his glass.

—

“Viviette.” Mickey. “When we first met, I was stunned into silence.”

Ian offered his speech with gusto. Focus.

“I love your smile. Your beautiful hands. Your sweet lips. Your bubbly derriere.”

The sisters giggled, enthralled.

“I want to wake beside you every morning, forever.”

Ian held out his signet ring and took Viviette's hand. “Would you do me the pleasure, nay, the honor of marrying me?”

Viviette must have agreed, judging by the cheers.

Ian didn't notice. Didn't care. 

Mickey stood at the back of the room, dressed in a suit, nodding yes.

His was the only acceptance Ian needed.
