The lives of these animals consist of confinement, abuse and mutilation. The most common animals used for fur are Minks & Foxes. These animals are usually fed "meat-by-products" that aren't fit for human consumption. To insure low costs & high quality fur, factory farmers cut corners to increase profits. Slaughter methods include-- Gas chambers(which isn't always lethel & animals can wake up while being skinned.) Electrocution in mouth and anus, Strychnine poisoning which suffocates the animal by paralyzing the muscles with painful cramps. Neck breaking is another horrific method used to steal the life of these innocent creatures. The fur industry contributes to the decline of our environment. The energy need to produce a real fur garment is 20% that needed to produce a faux fur garment. Nor are real fur products bio-degradable due to the chemicals used to STOP your coat/purse/product from ROTTING.
