“Just do this for me, I swear to God it’ll be the last thing I ever ask you for ev-“
“The last thing you ever ask me for because you’ll be DEAD, that’s not really a deal holder, Lillian.”
Lillian held her ground, standing firm while the boy, well while the man in front of her rolled his eyes. This wasn’t going to be easy, she had known that at the beginning. Asking him to leave, was never going to work – and she really didn’t want to do things the hard way, but right now he wasn’t giving her the choice.
“Noah…”
Her tone was warning him, letting him know that he was branching onto non-negotiable terms.
Too bad that didn’t matter anymore, Noah wasn’t the same kid he had been at the school. After everything went to hell, he had found his dad. He had worked with his father, side-by-side and the terrible things they did still haunted his dreams. He had no idea how many nights it had been since he was back, but he knew exactly how many nights he had woken in a cold sweat with Lillian’s warm fingers pressed against his cheek.
Without her, he never would have made it out of those memories – away from those dreams. She never asked him to talk about it, she never pushed or pried. Hell she didn’t know anything about it, but she understood. She had her own demons, her own skeletons in her closet that had been begging to be released but she kept a tight lock on them.
How often had he done what she asked? Too often. But not this time. This time was going to be different. He wasn’t giving in. He wasn’t letting her go. Not this time, not again. He was back, he came back for her, even if he claimed it was because he missed everyone. He missed their arguments. He missed her glares, her quick smacks to the head. He missed the silent nights where she would let her guard down and curl up against him. He missed her fingers curling into the back of his shirt to keep him close admidst all the danger and trouble they had gotten into. He even missed that twinge of jealousy he got every time she abandoned his bed for Cole. Thankfully for him, with his growing up he found a strange understanding of their relationship and since he had been back, he no longer questioned a thing.
“You’re not doing this alone. I told you I was in this with you, for good… kid.”
Noah grinned as he threw the last term in there and he advanced on the shorter girl. Daringly he lifted his hands to cup her face while he studied her.
“If you’re going. I’m going.”
For once silence found Lillian. The look in his wide-eyes, the fierce determination on his face, how could she fight this? She couldn’t, especially when he was declaring going with her no matter what – exactly what she had wanted, somewhere deep down.
“Fine. But if you get yourself killed, I’ll get someone to bring you back so I can kill you myself.”
Noah scoffed and rolled his eyes but he grinned. With a gentle tug of his hands he ended the conversation with his lips meeting hers.
Nillian 32
It was incredibly too late to be scooting through the halls in her stocking-clad feet, but there she was. In shorts that were too short to pass for any kind of daywear and some baseball tshirt that was posing as her pajamas for the night, Lillian moved surprisingly stealthily through the halls. It was late. Too late, probably sometime after 3 AM but this had become a common occurrence. When she finally reached her destination, she tapped her nails lightly against the door, dropping her head to the doorframe, her eyes met the set of blue gazing back at her when the door opened.
Iosif sighed heavily just staring at her, but his eyes rolled and he pushed the door open far enough to let her in. Giving him a grin and a quick pat to his abdomen, she slipped underneath his arm and into the dark, disaster area of a room. Carefully inching her way through the mess, she froze and waited until she heard Iosif climb back into bed. When the room had fallen silent again, she continued to the second bed. Once she reached it, she gently laid her hands on the bed and lifted herself up and over the sleeping figure in the bed.
Lil easily slid down against the wall and into the bed, managing to successfully worm her way under the blankets without waking Dickens at the same time. Her body scooted closer to the warmth the bed had to offer, and the comfort of the second body that immediately had her breathing easier. She hated the dark, she hated sleeping alone – most nights it was impossible for her to sleep alone. Her hands found his and she slipped her fingers between his, pressing their palms together while she inhaled deeply and settled in.
Their hands were going to be numb by morning – not that she cared. Instead, she was content, one could almost dare to push it far enough and say pleased. The kid was like a damned space heater and the chill that had sunk into her bones from darting through the school had quickly changed into a comfortable warmth that had her sleepy. When her lids closed, and her breath started to even out, the silence was broken.
“This is the fifth night in a row.”
He received silence in exchange for his sleepy words. The girl at his side only nuzzled in deeper against him and his lips found the top of her head. At least that brought out a smile out in her, not that he could see it, and the room settled into the quiet lull once again.
“If you keep doing this, my girlfriend is going to find out, and she’s gonna get pissed. I gotta warn you, she’s got a temper and she’s super jealous.”
So much for that nice, quiet that would send them all to sleep. Instead he had to speak again. A moment skipped in quiet and it almost seemed as if sleep had overtaken them all once more. That was until the hallow ‘THUNK’ echoed out as Lillian swung a set of their linked hands against his stomach for his smartassery. Right after the sound, a snort of laughter erupted from Iosif’s bed and Lillian had to fight hard to keep from giggling.
“…Ow. “

Noah's Death → Goodbye My Lover
If this battle wasn’t the worst, it was definitely one of the worst that they had ever managed to get themselves into. These ‘dharma’ people were coming down hard and they were taking no mercy. It was either you joined with them – by force, or you were slaughtered. They didn’t care about the potential or the people that they were killing. They didn’t care that these people had lives, had become family with one another. They were just brutal. But this SHIELD family was fighting back as hard as it could.
People were everywhere. Thanks to Jason, everything seemed to be on fire, giving the late night an eerie glow full of ominous smoke. The entire thing almost seemed unreal. The screams, the yelling, the comm. That Lillian had ripped out of her ear long ago because she couldn’t stand the voices in her head. In all reality, this should have been an easy battle, but Dharma caught them completely off guard and they were scattered, no time to form a front, or plan any sort of an attack, it was all about survival of the fittest and Dharma had done it perfectly. By cutting them off from one another, spreading them out, they had knocked out their strongest power in one hit.
The adults were too focused on holding the line back to worry about what students were doing what. It wasn’t a simulation, it wasn’t a coordinated mission, this was full out war and all they could do was pray and hope that their classes hadn’t been for nothing. Hope that the kids had picked up on something and were able to get it together enough to keep themselves alive first, and hopefully a few of their friends.
The students that were able to fight, had spaced themselves up and ended up pairing, or grouping up with whomever they found first and Lillian had run into Derek. Literally, she had run right into his chest while bolting down a dark hill. The boy had grabbed her around the waist and yanked her down into the brush.
“What in the hell is goin’ on here? This normal for you people?”
Lillian shushed him. She was breathing hard as she attempted to whisper to him. “This isn’t normal. People are dying, we have to fight, and we have to win.”

Closer to the school, Kitty Harris was trying her best to keep the younger ones protected and together. Many were terrified and screaming for their parents, but the girl was strong and she continued consoling the group of them, luckily enough for her, Danny Cook stumbled up, relatively unharmed, and he was surprisingly accompanied by Noah Dickens. The two immediately took point, offering as guard while Kitty got the kids back into the school, hoping to get them down into the basement where they would be safe.
Smart war tactic. That’s what they’ll claim afterward. Distract the front line, the people who are what can be considered invaluable since they are right there on the line, facing death at any second – and send your strongest attack to their weak point, their strongest gathering, the future of their people.
Time froze for everyone out on that field as the eyes that were up on one of the turrets called in movement, and lots of it toward the front door. It didn’t matter that he saw better from up high, it was still too late, and the front of the building, their base had become the war zone, or better that, the damages of war.
Dharma had gone after the children.
The agents scattered and went toward the explosions, the gun fire, the forcefields that were lighting the night sky. Valencia and Belle reached it first and joined in immediately on the battle. They were over numbered, outgunned at least four to one. Belle moved quickly, taking a child at a time and teleporting them out, far away from this carnage while they others fought for their lives. Valencia attacked with such a ferocity that it left the man she was headed for completely stunned and unprepared. He didn’t have a chance to defend himself before she had ripped out his throat. Literally. She was nearing her full wolf-mode and that was a danger to all around her. Danny and Noah were back to back, Danny feeding Noah his power as the pair attempted to build up some sort of stone wall. Something that could act as a bumper.
Spencer and Molly were running for the wall when the second explosion tore the two boys apart and sent them flying, and unfortunately the two girls were the first to see it. Danny was on the ground, with a gun barrel in his chest. Before Spencer had the chance to grab her arm, Molly ran and ripped her gloves from her hands, crying out in rage as she did so, she pressed her hands to the masked face and let go, completely let go and let the electricity flow from her and into his body. Within moments he had dropped, but there was still a sizzle in the air. Danny immediately jumped to his feet and took a hold of her face with stone fingers. “Mol, Mol it’s me… shhh, calm down.” Speaking quietly, his fingers wiping away the tears from the girl who had never released like that. Without words, she fell against his chest and his arms wound tightly around her, holding to her fiercely, completely ignoring the battle as if the two of them were the only people left on the planet.
Spencer on the other hand. Spencer needed no communication system to get to anyone. Her blood curdling scream alerted everyone within hearing distance. Unfortunately, that included Keera and Iosif. The pair came darting out from the trees. Of course, Keera was there first and when she stood next to Spencer her jaw dropped as she stared at the ground. “Get a healer… get a healer now. IOSIF!” The shrill scream was nothing like Keera ever had before. She was demanding him, calling for him and he would show up, he always did.
Within seconds, the metal manipulator had arrived, sliding across the grass on his knees to her side, his filthy face paled immediately under all the caked on blood and dirt, he was a ghost, when he saw what she was looking at.
Noah Dickens was on the ground, unconscious but riddled with bullets across his abomen. The shrapnel from the bomb had gone everywhere when it went off, and there was a large, twisted chunk of the front door stuck deep into his chest, impaling him to the ground. For a moment, Iosif just stared, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing, not this, not Noah… he was only awoken by Keera slamming hard into his arm and her voice bringing him back.
“We have a man down, man down, we need a healer, we need a healer immediately. This is Student Thompson Agent 320, I’ve got one down, Dickens, critically injured, in need of immediate attention on the north lawn. DOES ANYONE COPY?!” She screamed the last words into her ear piece, quickly growing frantic. She had tried to stop the blood, but it didn’t work, now she slipped one of her blood soaked hands into Noahs. “Hang on, Noah, just hang on, you’ll be fine.”
Iosif’s face was hard as he stared at the situation, he got to his feet and turned his back to the situation, licking at his lips as he stepped back to where Danny and Molly were. Spencer was still on the ground with Keera, joined by Kitty who was crying. Iosif’s jaw was tight as he spoke. “Someone needs to get her over here… now.” His chest heaved as he flinched vivdly when he looked behind himself. “And get my dad.”
Leaving the task of comm.-ing the two, to Danny, Iosif turned back around to kneel at his friends side. Noah was still awake, and he was trying to joke despite how pale he was and the slow trickle of blood that was coming from the side of his lip. “Don’t worry about it, Noah, they’re coming and you’re going to be okay.
Derek had suddenly tensed at Lillian’s side, his fingers going to his ear to lightly touch the piece that was there. “Come again?” His eyes widened as he looked to Lillian, but said nothing as Danny continued to talk. “Alright, I’ve got her with me, we’re comin’up now.” Lillian just looked to him questionably as she got to her feet and his eyes met hers. “battle’s moved to the front of the school, they need us up there, right now.” Lillian only nodded and dusted herself off, hurrying along with him, attempting to keep from falling in the blood slicked grass as they moved.
--
William, Cole, Jason, Katie and Bonnie had been at the back of the school when Danny’s voice came over the comm. “We need Adler up here, it’s pretty bad, healers are on their way – but I don’t think they’ll get here in time.” Cole’s eyes rolled in boredom as he spoke. “Who’s the stupid kid that got messed up this time?” His eyes rolled again as he looked over his little group. They had held their ground pretty decently, so what really could have caused any damage. Honestly, Cole hadn’t even gotten to have as much fun as he thought. “Noah Dickens.”
The name wiped the smirk right off of Cole’s face as he looked up to the other four, knowing they had heard it in their ears as well. “Dickens?” The man questioned only to receive a curt ‘Yes’ on the other line. “Does she kn-“ Cole didn’t get to finish as he was cut off again.
“No, she doesn’t, but she’s on her way here. Iosif said you need to get here. Now.”
Cole’s eyes met William’s first, and the man only nodded, causing Cole’s eyes to go dark. “A little fucking warning next time, psychic.” His words were harsh when he snapped, causing his brother to take a step between the two, ready to defend William.
“Hey, Cole… back off, alright, back off. He can’t be on top of everything, and we’re wasting time, no time to fight, we have to go and see if we can do something.”
The five started the trek down the hill and around the back of the school, going as quickly as they could, Katie and Bonnie fell behind a bit to let the boys bicker amongst themselves in tense tones.
“I don’t get it, Dickens is hurt – why the big problem?”
Katie tossed her hair back, her face a blank canvas of emotion as they walked. Noah was her friend, one of the few people in this place that treated her decently. “The big problem is this sounds like it’s the hurt that you don’t come back from, and if we don’t get there first… everyone else is going somewhere they’re not coming back from.” Swallowing over her words she tossed a quick look at Bonnie. “She’ll destroy everything.” The girl knew what she was talking about, knew exactly what it was like to lose control of such a powerful power at the wrong moment, she empathized with Lillian at the moment, but understood the gravity of the situation, so she only took Bonnie’s arm and quickened her pace.
Bonnie’s wheels were turning with Katie’s words and things began clicking in to place. “Lillian.”
“Lillian.”
-
“LILLIAN!” Derek called out as she had moved ahead of him, he caught up quickly and grabbed her arm. “Someone’s hurt, alright? But this is gonna work out, I know it.” Lillian looked at him for a long moment, they were stopped a few hundred feet from the group and he was staring at her intensely.
“Who?”
Unfortunately she got no answer from Derek, or waited for none and her blood was racing. He wasn’t telling her, the names and faces began going through her head and immediately she found it stop on Cole. No. Absolutely not. No way in hell. He was too strong for that. Without waiting for Derek, she couldn’t take the anticipation anymore, she took off, running for the group.
-
Cole, William and Jason made it to the small circle quickly. Jason immediately dropped to begin doing what he could for the dying boy while Keera was still screaming into her Comm for a healer. Danny had his arms around a crying Molly. Kitty was still bawling and trying to wipe the blood from Noah’s mouth as it came up each time he tried to breathe. Cole immediately stalked over to Iosif and settled his gaze on him. “Does she know?”
Iosif shook his head and then shrugged. “I don’t know. Derek said that he had her and they were on their way…”
“Is he going to make it?”
Iosif set his jaw, his eyes were brimmed with tears before he finally gave the barest shake of his head. “I don’t think so, sir.”
The group continued growing larger, students from the school that wanted to know what was going on, teachers that weren’t still fighting the battle. Cole took a glance over them and then looked back to Iosif. “We might wanna get these people out of here… this is going to get bad.”
--
Lillian was out of breath as she reached the group, Derek still close behind her as she pushed her way through the people. Her heart was somewhere in her throat and she had no idea what to expect. She wasn’t calling names, she didn’t know who to call for, but out of nowhere a set of strong arms grabbed onto her and immediately she yanked backward.
“Calm down, McFly, it’s me.”
Just the gruff voice had her relaxing immediately and she actually hugged him fiercely. “Jesus Christ, they were making it sound like it was you, what in the hell is going on? What’s the big deal then?” She was breathing normally now as she tipped her head up to look at him finally. Licking at her dry lips she met his eyes and remained still for a moment. “ … Doc…” His eyes immediately went down from hers and he held tighter to her arms.
Knowing her so well, he knew it wouldn’t take much for her to get it, and then it wouldn’t take much for this world to be set on fire. “Someone got her, pretty badly, and we’re still waiting for the medic, but it doesn’t look good…” He spoke in a quick, gruff voice. She took a step back but he still held tight to her arms. In the time it took for him to talk, her face had drained of all color and she now looked sick. They were keeping her from this, all of them. She could see it in the way that no one would meet her eyes. For a moment the world stopped spinning and then it spun out of control. Whipping around her, she could barely make sense of up and down, her head was all over the place before she came to a screeching stop. “Noah.”
The one name left her lips and with it, Cole’s grip on her tightened. “It is! It’s him! LET ME GO!” Screaming out the words now, her hysterics causing a fresh wave of tears in the girls that had surrounded the fallen boy. Finally she ripped her arms free from Cole and pushed aside a few more people. Cole, being Cole, and loving playing with death, went after her and grabbed her arm, whipping her around. “You do not want to see this, do you understand me? It’s not something you’ll ever be able to get out of your head. No.” His words were firm, but she didn’t care, a burst of energy flowed through her arms and the entire sleeves of his SHIELD jacket disappeared in seconds. Another long stare between the two, speaking without talking, something they did more often than not, he finally let her go and took a step back.
When he stepped back he found Iosif at his side and he spoke under his breath. “We need to get these people out of here… now. I’ll only be able to hold her for so long, and I’m going to pay for it later… but she’ll fucking kill everyone.” Iosif nodded again and moved to try and start getting people away, going to Danny for help.
Cole met Jason’s eyes for a brief moment and nodded his head. No need for words. She was here, she was coming.
And it was right after that, that Lillian had finally made her way through the circle. She was dirty, filthy, covered in grime, muck and blood, not to mention the dust of the people she had killed, but that was nothing compared to what was on the ground. The voices stopped when they saw her and people began to slowly move. Keera used Derek to get herself up, despite still fiercely holding to Noah’s hand, she had to be pried away. Iosif didn’t give Kitty the chance to fight as he scooped her up into his arms and began carrying her away. His best friend was on the ground, but he was taking it in stride… he was taking it like an Adler. Bonnie had stooped to get Molly and Spencer up, and within seconds it was only Jason left.
Lillian took a slow step forward, taking in the sight of the battered boy on the ground before her. His chest was barely moving and his eyes were closed. A cough, a fresh wave of dark red blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. She blocked out everyone else as she fell hard to her knees at his side. “No… No. My God. Noah.” She was whispering while tearing up at the same time. Any pretenses of keeping herself together were going right out the window. Any thought of putting on a show for anyone around them was gone. “Noah!” Calling his name out again as her hands went to his face, smearing his blood along her hands. “Oh my God.”
Taking in a gasping breath, she struggled hard to remain calm, and when she called his name again, a small smile formed on his lips. “I always told you it’d be something stupid… it’s like Call of Duty.”
His words, albeit stupid, were so incredibly him. Comparing his death to a video game. The words had the tears bursting down her cheeks immediately. He was so weak, he couldn’t move, but he grabbed her hand. Somehow he grabbed her hand. “Lily, I’m sorry.” His head turned to find her and their eyes locked.
Lillian was a blubbering mess, she couldn’t see through her tears, she couldn’t stop shaking, she could barely breathe. One hand was gripping his fiercely, the other was still on his face. “Stop it. You’re going to be fine. SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!” She tore her gaze away from him to look around at crowd that was around them before looking back down, gasping out in sobs. “Noah, please, please don’t go. Don’t you dare leave me like this. Don’t you dare. We’re going to Bali. We’re getting the hell out of here, as soon as you’re alright. We’re going!”
She was babbling, and not making any sense, but Noah only smiled again, he lifted his head to look at her. “I’ve always loved your eyes you know… and you’re… gorgeous when you cry, but don’t. It’s okay. I promise, Lils… hey…” His voice lowered as he looked to her, motioning her down until her forehead was pressed against his. “I love you –that’s all that matters. Not this. Not the battle, not the school. Nothing else. Just that I love you.”
She kept her head pressed against his, her tears falling down his cheeks as she held onto him. “Don’t leave me please.”
He only smiled once more as his eyes closed and his labored breathing was now slower, so much slower and shallow. “Just say it.” He whispered the words out with a fresh wave of the dark, arterial blood spilling from his lips.
Lillian only cried harder and rocked toward him lowering her voice. “I love you, I love you so much you stupid idiot… but they’re going to fix it. Noah. I need you here. I need you. I love you. See. I said it. I love you so don’t… don’t…” She trailed off as the boy’s body had become still.
He wasn’t breathing, he wasn’t moving, and judging by the wails erupting from all around them, she wasn’t the only one that noticed. Slowly drawing her head back to look him over, Lilian struggled to see through her tears. “No? … Noah?” Whispering out his name she shook him gently but got no resposnse.
Jason’s head only shook sadly, his cheeks wet with his own silent tears. His gruff voice interrupting the quiet. “Cole!” Calling for his brother he pulled Noah a bit more into his lap, looking to Lillian with wide eyes and fearing the storm that was coming. “COLE.” He shouted out again and then finally, it all happened at once.
Noah was gone. Noah was gone, and Lillian was far from numb. “NOAH.” Screaming out his name she held tight to his hand, kissing the skin there “NOAH WAKE UP.” Sobbing out she still managed to ignore everyone else, until the arms circled around her waist. “NO. NO. Someone wake him up! WAKE HIM UP!” Screaming at the top of her lungs as Cole literally lifted her from the ground with ease, he tugged her back into his chest and spun her around, pushing her head against his jacket. She sobbed, she shook. Her legs barely holding her up. She was losing it, her control was going, and he could feel it, he could see it as the grass started disappearing and turning into dirt around them, and then the trees immediately started disappearing.
“GET THE HELL OUT OF HER!” Cole’s voice screamed to the rest that had lingered, while he held tightly to the broken girl who was beginning to destroy the world without even realizing she was doing it.
“GET OUT!”
noah
favorite non-sexual activity: For these two? Snuggling up with junk food, that typically turns into some kind of food battle, and watching random movies that rarely actually get watched.
who uses all the hot water: Noah, because he know it irritates Lillian to no end. It's how he gets his morning exercise: by running as soon as he hears her yelp.
most trivial thing they fight over: Why he won't get more tattoos, why she shouldn't get more tattoos, why he won't let her put colors in his hair.
who does most of the cleaning: Lillian, Noah's a slob and when he's mad at her, she can always tell because the mess is ten times worse.
what has a season pass on their dvr/who controls the netflix queue: Noah. Touching the electronics is like against the rules for Lillian. Or so he thinks. After he's done setting up his recordings or his Queue, she goes in and changes it.
who calls up the super/landlord when the heat’s not working: Noah will usually call Iosif first to see if he can fix it.
who leaves their stuff around: Noah. He leaves everything, everywhere. So Lillian started hiding the things he left around when she cleaned, he hasn't learned anything as of yet.
who remembers to buy the milk: Neither, Lillian won't drink it, so she won't buy it, so Noah whines about how there is no milk, typically with a mouthful of dry cereal so she has no idea what he's saying anyway.
who remembers anniversaries: Anniversaries are hilarious. Lillian doesn't care about them, but she remembers. Noah forgets, until Iosif calls him and asks how it went or what he did. Then Noah freaks out and starts running around trying to figure out something all while Lillian's giggling at the poor guy.
who cooks normally?: It's unfair here. In order to get Noah to start doing some of the cooking, Lillian fed him nothing but Tofu for an entire week. THAT lesson he learned, you don't mess with his food.
how often do they fight?: Any chance they get. It fuels their relationship, and at this point, Noah will just start a fight to get what happens afterward. The boy has a thing for the rough makeup sex, and even though she'll never admit it - Lillian knows exactly what he's doing but hey, she has a thing for the rough makeup sex too.
what do they do when they’re away from each other?: Lillian is mean and will text Noah pictures of Derek and Keera all curled up together when she's out for one of her foursome nights. The foursome night typically turns into a fivesome when Noah shows up to prove he can do whatever Derek can do better. When left alone, Noah retreats to his glorious games, poptarts and weird SYFY movies with Strawberry Field. (Whom Lillian has actually kind of come to like... shut up.)
nicknames for each other?: Kid, Lil, Lily, Monkey and when Lillian's really in a teasing mood, she'll call him BooBoo.
who is more likely to pay for dinner?: Noah, all because his mother and Iosif said he has to.
who steals the covers at night?: Lillian. Every time. And Noah will wake up and threaten to kick her out onto the couch which leads to her rolling over and kissing him, typically getting handsy while doing so and then grinning and telling him he won't.
what would they get each other for gifts?: Lillian would give in and buy him stupid games to keep him distracted, or see how long he could keep playing while she attempts to distract him - it's definitely her favorite game. Noah would start out being a smartass and buying her clothes that she wouldn't wear in a million years before going to something a lot more practical. A flower a day, like tradition.
who kissed who first?: Noah kissed her first. While they were in the middle of talking and she was a little lost for a while there - but she did kiss him back.
who made the first move?: Lillian, he perked her interest and she had to see if it was worth exploring.
who remembers things?: Iosif remembers it for them.
who started the relationship?: Cole Adler. He was sick and tired of Lillian lying to her damned self and was actually impressed with Noah when he passed the million and one tests that he put them through - so he locked them in his room and said they weren't coming out until they worked their shit out. Thanks Doc.
who cusses more?: Lillian, Noah, Lillian. Lillian. During sex, it's Noah - no Lillian... no Noah. Alright, it goes back and forth.
what would they do if the other one was hurt?: Lillian would sit at the idiot's bedside until she was absolutely sure that he was going to keep breathing and be alright, then probably have an emotional breakdown and then go after whoever did what to burn off steam. Noah would absolutely stay at her side and not have to worry about retribution, he knows Lillian has some crazy powerful and angry friends.
The Escapist Chronicles
How much time had passed? How long had she been… wherever she was? Something wasn’t adding up, it wasn’t making sense. She was at school… but she wasn’t. Where was everyone? Normally there were people everywhere, maybe there was another mission and she missed out while she was downstairs. Moving slowly from the window seat on the second floor at the end of the east wing, it was a typical perch of hers, she began padding down the hall. If there was anyone that couldn’t go on a mission, it’d be Noah.
She had been putting off seeing him, all she felt was guilt and sadness. Of course she was going to have to try and explain why she had tried to leave, and without him, but she wasn’t sure she could. Iosif knew why, but her chat with Iosif… had that been real? Had he actually come to see her in the White Room? She wasn’t sure anymore. Shaking the thoughts from her head, her fingers pulled at her loose curls as she padded through the hallways toward Noah and Iosif’s room.
When she reached the room, in her typical fashion she knocked once and pushed the door open. “Noah I really need to talk to you, I think I’m los-“ Cutting herself off as she looked up at the sight before her. Noah was on his back, across Iosif’s bed of all things and Valencia was straddling his lap, neither seeming to know what clothing was and neither making much effort to cover up. Groaning out, she covered her eyes with one hand. “That is not something I ever wanted to see… well alright then.” She remained in the doorway while her stomach rolled and her anger actually spiked. What was this? Was she actually jealous? Past jealous even… almost to the point of being completely livid. She wanted to drag Valencia from the room by her hair and throw her out in to the hallway naked, but somehow she stood strong.
Lillian’s fingers remained over her eyes as she heard the shuffling on the bed, “I guess I’ll see you later, Dickens.” Val’s voice called out as she moved past Lillian and Lil had to forcibly restrain herself from pounding into the girl right there. Once Soto was gone she lowered her hand to find Noah zipping and buttoning himself into his jeans, not bothering with a shirt as he turned to look at her. “What? That was rude.”
Lillian’s eyes rolled and she moved into the room shrugging. “Next time, put a sock on the door. I need to talk to you.” Closing the door carefully behind her, she took a long look around the room, avoiding looking at Noah before finally settling on a chair that had… not as much crap on it as everything else. Iosif must not have been staying in here much. Her eyes lifted to Noah and she sat in silence just watching him.
“I’m sorry, Lils, I didn’t mean to snap at you… it was just really bad timing. And I’m sorry you had to see that, not like you really care.” Noah sighed and dropped to the corner of the bed, rubbing his face with his hands as he slowly pulled his fingers down his cheeks to look at her. “Alright, talk, let’s talk, what’s going on, are you okay?”
Immediately, Lillian felt herself relax. It was normal Noah. This was real. This was going to go alright. She was still sitting upright on the chair as she began speaking. “I don’t know what’s going on, everyone has gone crazy, Keera hates me, Derek used me, or something. I think Danny wanted to kill me… Iosif said something about Cole..” She was babbling on and she knew it, but dear God she felt like she was teetering on the edge of sanity. She didn’t bother to continue as she stopped and pressed her fingers into her temples, her voice broken as she looked up, tears in her eyes. “I feel like I’m going crazy, Noah.”
Noah looked at her in silence for a long moment, his shoulders slumping but he reached a hand out toward him. “Come here.” He sighed but his fingers motioned for her and he didn’t pull back until he had her hand securely in his. Lillian got to her feet and went grudgingly went over to the bed. Sitting down beside him she tucked her knees underneath her and let her head fall to his shoulder. “I’d like to help… but we all know I’d probably screw that up, and I guess I don’t really know what to say.”
Lillian shrugged, not asking for anything. Their hands were still linked and his thumb was gently brushing over the backs of her fingers. Minutes went by and the pair didn’t move, but of course, Lillian had to break the silence. “I have to tell you something, and it’s really, really serious, okay? I know you’re mad at me for leaving without you, but just let me get this out, okay?” She straightened up as she spoke, turning her body so she was completely on the bed, but she was facing him.
Their hands were still together and she began absently playing with his fingers while starting to talk. “Okay, so I don’t really know how to do any of this…. I don’t know how to say anything of this. I talked to Iosif and he was just grinning like an idiot, and I never said anything before because I was just scared and unsure and… it felt weak, I guess?” She swallowed hard while she met his dark eyes. “Okay. Yeah, I’m just going to spit you out. I love you.”
Noah shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes. “Yeah, I know, everyone loves Noah, he’s like the best little brother in the world.”
Lillian’s free hand came up to cuff him in the side of the head. “That’s not what I’m saying, you idiot! I’m saying…” She trailed off, playing with his hand more frantically. “I’m saying that I’m IN love with you, Noah… as in… not the brother/sister kind of love… as in like the real stuff, you know?”
The quiet that fell over them was to be expected, she figured he’d need time to process it, but she didn’t even get some kind of victory dance or a ‘wow.’ Instead it was just silence for a long, long time.
“Well that… totally sucks.” Noah finally spoke and let go of her hands. His fingers slapped against his thighs as he got to his feet, leaving Lillian on the bed… and she was extremely confused. Noah began moving pacing the room and laughing a bit to himself. “Really… really sucks. Does this mean you’re going to get all clingy now and stuff? Like.. .thinking you’re my girlfriend kind of thing?”
She was stunned, this had better be a joke, and even if it was, he was going to pay for it. Scowling at him her eyes narrowed. “That would be the way these things work, would it? With the whole… love and not wanting to be apart so you do that stupid… boyfriend/girlfriend thing. Right?”
Noah stopped moving, standing in the middle of the room, his jaw dropping open. For a moment the tension passed between the two before Noah started laughing. “Ooooh this is bad, this is funny, but this is BAD.” He was almost crying from his laughter, he had to brace himself against his thighs to stay upright while he continued on.
“What in the hell is so funny?” She snapped the words at him and finally got off of the bed.
Noah composed himself enough to wipe a hand over his face. “Whoa… that’s great stuff… this is just all just too much, I never thought you of all people would make things complicated… I was just… wow…” He went back to snickering and Lillian tossed her head back.
“Noah I swear to God if you don’t speak, I’m going to turn you into dust. What in the hell is so funny?”
Taking a step back from her, hoping to keep all of his parts he moved to the closet to seek out a shirt. “This whole thing is hilarious. I never thought you’d fall in love with me, hell…” He trailed off and pulled a t-shirt over his head. “I only said that stuff to you to get you to keep sleeping with me. And the whole virgin thing, yeah that was all a lie, but what can I say? You’re awesome in bed.” He shrugged shamelessly as he fixed his shirt and combed his fingers through his hair.
She was less than amused, much less than he was. Her jaw went tight while she glared at him. “What do you mean you only said that stuff?” She spit out the words through clenched teeth and folded her arms tightly before her. “You made it all up. To get into my pants.” Her glare was on fire now and she was shaking once more.
Noah shrugged and went to the fridge, grabbing a bottle of some sports drink and chugging it down. “Well yeah, though it’s not like I needed it. Those legs are open for business.” He set the drink down to take a huge bite from a sandwich but continued talking. “I mean, come on, in love with you? I don’t think so. I don’t even really know you… like at all. We’ve hung out a couple of times and have had sex, and made out a ton. Plus you’re kinda possessive.”
He moved from the fridge leaving Lillian standing in the middle of the room as he started gathering up some more of his stuff, this time it was actual school books. His speech continued uninterrupted. “Honestly, there’s not much to fall for, you know? You’re all bitch and attitude and no real personality or substance. It’s kind of sad really… you should see somebody about that, and get help and all that good stuff. Or you could get some kind of pointers… Keera… now there’s someone I could fall for. Looks, brains, she’s so in tune with me, and she gets me, and she listens to me, and she’s funny, and likes video games…” His voice went slightly dreamy when he spoke as did his eyes, but he finally shook himself out of it. “Sorry, what was I saying?”
Lillian’s teeth were clenched tightly shut but overall she looked contained, controlled, while on the inside she was a raging storm. The entire time, he had been lying, she had been nothing more than someone to help keep his bed warm at night and she had opened up… given him exactly what he asked only to have it kicked back in her face. “You were talking about how you love Keera and how I was just entertainment.”
Noah stopped for a minute staring at her before he nodded his head in agreement with her. “Oh! Right! Keera… she’s really something, right? You know I’m sorry it had to all come out like this and stuff. We’re still friends right?” He moved toward her again, his hands circling her tiny upper arms and soothingly rubbing over the bare skin there. “We’re good, right? I mean… we can still do the same stuff we were doing before. Actually, how about you meet me back here after dinner tonight?” He moved forward and pressed his lips quickly to her temple and let her go. “Alright, sounds great – I’ll catch you later, Lily!”
With that he was gone and she was still standing there, still trying to process. Had that really… did that actually just happen? She had… she had come out and told him everything and that is what it turned into. Even for him she was nothing more than a warm body? What kind of person was she? God why did this hurt so much? Why had she allowed him to get to her on such levels that this pain literally felt as if it was tearing open her chest. Rather than leaving the room she let herself sink slowly to the floor, her arms crossed over her chest as she brought her legs up, curling up as small as she could possible get. How could something as stupid as this hurt so badly? She had no idea, but she felt as if her heart was being torn through her chest up through her throat and her stomach was twisted into knots. What did she do… why did she let him get to her like that, why had she done anything she had done? Her forehead pressed into her knees and she broke down.
Really. There was no holding back this time. This hurt. This hurt… more than she ever thought something like this would. The straight up rejection by the boy she had come to love. She had no other option, while curled up her shoulders were shaking with her silent sobs, and soon her entire body was rocking back and forth in a pathetic attempt to comfort herself.
Lawson took a step back as the girl continued to whimper, a sadistic smile on his face while he moved to wash his hands. “Keep her sedated, she’ll be living in this world for a bit so the next time I go in, she’ll already be weakened and unprepared for her sister.” Shaking his hands out he dried them slowly while turning to look at the blonde that was stretched out on the table. “And pretty soon she’ll realize that she really has no one. First the sister, and then we end it.”
Tongue Tied → The Night Before ... → Noah Dickens
She was drunk – there was no way around that. Absolutely gone – to the point where she almost didnk’t know where she was. Even more strange was her choice of drinking partner: Noah Dickens. He was sitting directly beside her milking a half gone screwdriver. Amelia and Katier were both gone, she had run into him on her way from Wade’s room. Like an annoying and hyper puppy, he had bopped around her demanding to know what was in her bag. What had she taken from Wilson’s room? Finally out of complete annoyance and hoping it would make him go away, she showed him the inside of the bag. Vodka.
Despite her best efforts she finally gave in and brought him back to her room. And now – here they were, an entire bottle later, sittign side by side on the edge of her bed. Kicking her feet up and down she ended up accidentally kicking Noach in the shin. The kick was what set it all off. The kick sent the drunk boy flailing and his entire glass ended up all over her. “God dammit, Dickens! Dry clean ONLY.” She called out while she jumped to her feet, shaking out her shirt and trying desperately to rid herself of the cold liquid.
Of course, Noah was apologizing frantically and searching for something to clean her up with. Lillian continued shaking out her shirt from the front while watching him and finally he found a towel. His hands seemed to cover more of her than the towel when he was attemting to clean her up. “Calm down, boy before you wet yourself, it’s not that bad, I’ll just changed.” She called over her shoulder as she moved from him to her closet. It was her room afterall.
“OH God, Lil, I’m so sorry. I’m dumb and I’m a jerk and that was bad. I’m sorry.” The girl ignored his spatterings of apologies and continued pawing through her shirts. When she finally selected a red t-shirt and turned around to switch the shirts out, she found Noah standing right in front of her. It wasn’t as if he was just there, but he was there barely inches before her and staring at her with a look she had never seen. Well, never seen on his face anyway.
It seemed as if minutes passed while the two stared at one another intently, and she was the first to attempt to break the silence. Her lips parted to speak, but she made no sound. Instead the silence continued and Noah’s hands came up to close over hers. He slowly pulled the red shirt from her hands and let it drop to the floor. With widened eyes and a confused look on her face, Lillian went to speak again but rather Noah spoke instead. “I don’t want you to fell weird, you know?” She had no idea what he was talking about but his words were accompanied with his hands releasing hers andpulling his own shirt quickly over his head. If it was possible, Lillian’s eyes went even wider while they lowered to look him over.
Well then.
His body was a lot better than she had imagined that he would look like under all of the clothing. Nice. While she was lost in her thoughts and distracted by his body, his hands had dropped to the lower hem of her shirt. Fortunately for his life, she was drunk and much more fascinated in the way the muscles in his chest rippled when he moved his arms. Damn. She wasn’t entirely sure if it was the fog of the alcohol that had her so enamored, so impreseed – no – so transfixed, or what but there she was. Still staring and not resisting as his hands pulled the shirt up and over her head.
Her arms went up without a fight and then she let them fall back down, except this time the soaked shirt was completely gone. The smirk on his face was now… smooth. Lillian cocked a brow and she could only stare at him, waiting until he finally spoke. “What? I’m helping.” In a bold move, Lillian reached her hands behind her back and quickly popped the clasp of her bra free. Shrugging the material from her shoulders, the girl let the bra fall to the ground all while staring at him. “So am I.” Her words were paired with the sultry smirk that she often wore. The boy stooped and picked up his towel and gently began wiping off the alcohol that was remaining. His gaze was glued to her breasts as if he had never seen a pair before. Little did she know, he hadn’t, but there was no way she would have believed that in that moment in time.
Noah had a strange confidence about him, something she had never seen before. Actually it was something she was sure no one had ever seen before. It was in his smile, the playful glint in his eyes, that had long since grown dark, turned serious. They were both standing in her room while completely bare from the waist up and acting as if it was natural. He wasn’t fumbling or babbling now, just completely calm and poised.
Now Lillian was in her element. Half naked, with a boy in her room. “Now what?” questioning him with the same quiet voice that was goading at him her. Her answer was more silence. Silence followed by Noah’s surprisingly strong hands taking a tight hold of her waist and pulling her into him. She took the initiative to grab onto his neck with both hands and haul herself up. Both of her legs locked around his waist and their chests met.
“You going to kiss me now? Finally?” She tilted her head coyly as she posed the question – like she was innocent in this whole endeavor. Noah’s smile had widened slowly into a wicked smirk that only meant the gears were turning in his head. His head tilted toward hers but his lips gently touched to her neck. Lillian let her eyes drift closed with the soft touch. The soft touch that quickly changed to a rough, almost tearing to her sink.
A hickey.
The bastard had enough guts in him to give her a damned hickey. Her number one rule was no marks – but here he was, daring to break it… and she let him. Really. Rather than being pissed, she was alright with it. Her nails clawed into his neck in response. Beginning at the top of his spine, her fingers curled up along his head scratching as she went. Noah tipped his head backward to look up at her, the fire in his eyes matching her own and she felt her heart racing just from that. The anticipation was killing her.
The slow torture continued until Noah leaned his lips towards her slowly. Rather than kiss her, the boy pressed his forehead to hers and let his lips pass a breath away from her own. Her lower lip dropped and she was breathing hard now as she tipped her chin up, urging him to continue. “Go on. Help.” She finally spoke in a ragged voice that was full of need. With a quick glance up to her eyes, Noah finally conceded and brought his lips to hers. Her eyelids slammed shut with the heated kiss, her tongue battling for dominance, his tongue winning, her teeth nipping, his lips rough. That was how the two were entangled when they finally fell to her bed…
