Jade was sitting at her desk, reviewing old files about cases involving Silvers when someone came over with a potential case at the docks. “Think you can handle this one?” Of course, Jade wasn’t going to say no. She happily accepted the task and put on a smile until her coworker left. She sighed, shutting her files and putting them away before taking off from the police department. This was the last thing she wanted to do when she was almost done with her shift today.
Jade walked down towards one of the ships and saw a familiar face. If she never saw him again, she wouldn’t have minded, but seeing as she was a police officer, basically a public servant, and in a smaller town, she’d have to settle with seeing him more than once. “Mister Kohler,” she said, holding up her badge out of habit, “Detective Kaminski. I’m sure you can recall our discussion from last week. Thank you for finally sending those tapes. What’s the problem here though? Something went wrong with a shipment is what I heard.”
