I firmly believe that Noble Six's ending for Reach was truly the most impactful way it could have ended. You got this sense going into it that it was suicide - maybe there was a little bit of hope at times that dwindled more and more and there was a slow realisation of oh, we're not making it out. (Save for Jun)

This being said, my brain keeps saying - what if?

What if Noble Six did survive - not because they fought off the enemies, not because they somehow managed to avoid that final strike of the energy sword, but because their suit is built to bring them back.

The imagery, just maybe, of "MIA" being literal, because there's always a chance they could have came back. Survived? No. Came back?

Maybe.

(I'm considering lore implications of Noble Six being able to "respawn" the way they do when we play the campaign but done differently. A special mechanism along the spine that sinks into flesh and restarts prior functions meant to be inactive. A low success rate but a potential success nonetheless)

Should I... maybe write this? I think it could be a fun fanfiction

Everyone IS aroace. ZERO sex. ZERO romance. They are all platonically married and would die for each other.

Except for noble 6. 6 is just 6. There's no other way to put it into words. But 6 is the biggest ally for the rest of the team.

Painted up Noble Team yesterday! Had a surprisingly hard time finding good reference pics for everyones armour so I took a little creative liberty with some. I think the largest departure is Emile but I like the dark blue look for him.

Opted to paint Noble 6 in more vibrant colours taking inspiration from Wattson Apex Legends.

i said this on my instagram, but i'm VERY excited for halo: fireteam noble because i feel like we're finally getting a look into how jun feels about reach after all these years and how his survivors guilt is affecting him (that was alluded to in battle for the academy part 2. also was kind of just presumed by the community, but its nice to get some confirmation that he is indeed battling ghosts from his past).

i GENUINELY think we might be getting a new era noble team, even if its temporary for this one rescue mission. the academy cast, sigrid eklund, hieu dinh, agryna makes sense, alongside rosenda returning. they were all together for battle for the academy, so i do have a hunch they'd return. definitely rosenda anyway ("old allies"), but his "new allies" could also definitely be new characters. i've also had a thought or two about the possibility of buck returning knowing how interwined jun is with his story, but only time will tell really.

but taking this into account, jun CANT be okay with being "pulled back into active operations". and he certainly CANT be okay with being put back into a team because we know hes still haunted by reach and the deaths of his last teammates. surely hes going to get some unwanted memories of the past working with this new team, whoever they are.

he isnt over the past. you'd think working with a new team would, at the very least, make him uneasy. hes going to be forced to revisit parts of his past that he'd rather file away. for sure we're going to get some noble team flashbacks, and i think thats going to be very interesting to see.
