So nocontextlestat that has come back and I’ve seen a lot of people excited because they thought she was just simply taking a break and don’t understand that there was actually something behind this. Before I start I wanna say that the whole reason I even started watching the show is because I found her account. I was a huge huge fan of hers and this is no way shape or form any type of cancer culture mainly because cancer culture doesn’t exist. She willingly chose to take down her account. I was really hoping that after some self reflection, she would come back acknowledge would happen apologize and then become part of the fandom again which would’ve been amazing! After all people make mistakes especially if you weren’t aware that you weren’t supposed to be doing something the first place however that doesn’t seem like the case again this is not meant to cancel her. I’m still hoping she’ll learn from this and apologize, but this is just in case  people who aren’t aware of what happened and wouldn’t want to support this type of behavior.. turns out she was charging for fanfiction on the basis that it takes her a lot of time and work to make them.. when someone politely pointed out that is in fact illegal to make fanfiction and charge for it, and the fact that Anne rice s was against fanfiction in general (She’s not from the US so there’s probably a chance that she wasn’t aware of this before after all, people make merch all the time, and no one gets in trouble for it as long as they don’t use any type of copyrighted images or words on it! )But writing fanfiction is not the same thing as making merch . You aren’t charging a story that would not exist without the use of another writers hard work. It seems bizarre to me that she claimed to be such a huge fan of rice and that she herself is a writer and wants to become a writer and yet can’t seem to grasp why it’s wrong to charge for fanfiction. After she was made aware instead apologizing, and no longer doing it. She had a complete meltdown and starting to belittle and quite frankly bully and be nasty to the people who are trying to politely explain this to her.. as you can see from the photos, she  tells someone that she hopes their heart rots from hatred because they deserve that for literally just telling her that she cannot be charging for fanfiction because it’s illegal. To make manners worse, she decided to delete her account and then brought it back and left a message saying she wasn’t gonna post anymore turned off all of her comments with a smile🙂 and then completely ghosted all of her fans Even now that she’s back, she still didn’t apologize for completely leaving her fans without letting them know what was happening. Again the whole reason I even started watching the show was because of her account it was deeply disappointing, and shocking to see her speak that way to another person, especially when she was in the wrong. What does this all mean??

I'm not nocontextlestat. I have never been nocontextlestat and I've never even interacted with them as far as I know. I'm River, my main blog is @armandyke and when I saw that ncl had crashed out and deleted all their accounts I tried to see if the url was available and now here I am. I don't have any plans to make this into an active blog. I don't know why they deleted and I don't really care I just snagged this url for the bit lol

I said the exact same things as the blog you are replying too, originally in a very gentle manner.

I even just replied to your post, not even reblogging *because* I didnt want to start beef, just giving you a heads up on the rammies of your behavior and how it could affect fanwriters.

Multiple people read it, but didnt think to screencap because you deleted my comment and blocked me WITHIN SECONDS.

Why does this poster deserve your grace and empathy while you block and ignore everyone else reaching out with the exact same concerns?

It was only after you banned me and multiple other people for *gently explaining to you that your behavior was uncool* I got snarky and called you out.

Again there are several people who read my OG response and are too like "wtf you said the exact same thing" as the OP you are now choosing to engage with.

Like, I am glad that you finally listened to someone and that they got the same point across to you!

Doesn't undercut the fact that I was only trying to make the fandom a nice space for creators and you are, and continue to be, *extremely rude* by blocking people, without a word or comment, people who were just trying to explain to you why snarking on fanfic is uncool.

Felt this issue isn't finished until you reexamine how you *respond* to criticism as well, but you've very conveniently tried to make it impossible for me to reply or even follow along the debate.
