NEIGHBORHOOD THEATRE
by Will Puckett
“I wanted to do something abstract to symbolically represent this charging force that is coming through our community. Even though we are evolving we are still keeping the past in the present.” —Will Puckett
During the summer weeks in 2015 spent painting the front of the theater at Davidson and E 36th in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, Puckett told @CharlotteAgenda that he drew on his degree in art history to create a “design of animals that have been represented throughout time in different cultures.” Despite the art history degree, when asked about his greatest influences Puckett cites philosophers and literary critics. Perhaps not surprisingly then, a year after completing this work he and his family pulled up stakes so he could pursue an MA in Contemporary Art Theory and a PhD in Philosophy at University of Edinburgh. @mr_puckett/ @neighborhoodtheatre/
