I still don’t see what’s wrong with shipping them tho (well, you know, I ship them), but I agree with you on people can’t pretend Kubo does what the fandom wants. They’re her characters, we’re only viewers and fans and must respect the author’s decisions. I didn’t know that about people telling Kubo “panders to straights” lol. That’s funny considering what the main couple is.

I think fans wanted all couples to be gay, minus JJ and Isabella, else it’s “pandering to straights”. Otayuri have no romantic chemistry, they just met. I dislike the pairing a lot, but I’m not dissing people who ship them, just those who belittle friendship.
