LMSRP'S CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT CONTEST
noel marlin. 29, cancer, surgical resident
do they have any verbal tics? do they have trouble pronouncing certain words or getting their thoughts across clearly? noel can't pronounce two words without tripping over them: similarly and burglar. it's a mess when he tries. mostly then he'll avoid those words. luckily he knows how to absorb a thesaurus.
what are their chief tension areas? he feels stress most of all in his neck. he's always had problems there, and when he's stressed out, you'll find him walking along rubbing the back of his neck to try and calm himself down. jsyk: it doesn't ever work.
are they a quick thinker or do they need time to sort through their thoughts? in most situations he's quick on his feet, you have to be in his line of work, but on some things he will bumble over them, umming and erring. mostly in unimportant things too like which pastry he'll have for breakfast.
if they had a choice, would they prefer a subway or a bus for public transportation? subway. if he's gonna be stuck on public transport, then at least the subway is over faster. of course, if he doesn't have to pick one, he'd rather walk.
are they a team player or do they prefer to be solo? solo. he's tried the team player thing at work but he's awful at it. really he needs to work on listening to others and not going 'this is what i think is right, i don't care what you have to say now... blah blah blah, i can't hear you'.
can they multi-task or must they focus on one subject at a time? like all men, when noel tries to multi-task, bad things happen. luckily he has good time management and is always able to find time to focus on one task at a time.
your character has been granted 3 wishes; what would they wish for and why? a year's supply to cheese crackers, fluff to stop sitting on his face when he's ignored for more than five minutes in the morning, oh and world peace. :D mostly though - happiness, enough money to live comfortably, and for all his loved ones to never lack anything they really need.
do they prefer romance or affection? what is the quickest way to your character’s heart? both? he loves affection, hugs and cheek kisses and hand-holding, but he also likes fire and passion and grand gestures of love. the quickest way to his heart is coffee knowing how to laugh at yourself and just be silly like him. embrace the inner dork.
does your character get restless when things are too quiet or do they favour solitude and silence? why? restless. when he's off work, noel is alone a lot, and it's driven him loopy. he has conversations with the cat, the tv, the furniture if it's bugging him, anything really. he doesn't work well in silence. it presses in on him and he hates it.
finally; if your character was forced to eat one thing for the rest of their life, what would they choose and why? pepperoni pizza. it's his weakness. (besides coffee, of course)
