So I saw these tags from @lizirinzs​ on the latest chapter update for Reunion, and it got me thinking about the fact I’ve never shared the timeline I keep for key events in the Noelverse. If you, like me, struggle to figure out where events fall relative to each other without detailed notes, here you go!

(TL;DR - as of Reunion, Light has been in Near’s custody for nine years, working with the SPK for seven, and looking after Julia for four.)

New Fanfiction: Reunion

Eight years ago today, I posted the first chapter of Noel.

Four years ago today, I posted the last chapter of Resurrection.

Today...the Noelverse returns.

Summary: In the nine years since his supposed death, Light Yagami has solved cases, faced down killers, and won the trust—and begrudging affection—of his jailer, Near. But when a troubling new case forces Near to act quickly, Light must finally do the one thing he dreads most: 

Face the family he left behind.

Author’s Note: Both the title and the plot of this fic have been kicking around in my head since before I finished Resurrection, but what I intended to be a brief mental health break turned into more of a multi-year slog. About a year ago, Persona 5 inspired me to finally start writing fic again--and earlier this year, I rewatched part of Death Note and decided it was high time to come back and give the Noelverse the final installment it deserves. (And boy oh boy, does it feel amazing to be writing  these two emotionally constipated idiots again...)

As always, my update schedule can best be described as “sporadic”--especially since I have two children and another multichapter fic going at the same time--but this will be a shorter, more intimate story than either Noel or Resurrection, and I’m aiming to update at least once or twice a month. In the meantime, I can’t thank you enough for all the support and love you’ve shown this series over the years, and I hope you enjoy Light and Near’s final misadventure just as much. <3
