Happy Halloween. The dark half of the year has arrived 🎃🌑
I didn't want to miss out on welcoming my favorite part of the year!
Day 1: "Groove billed ani"
This year I have decided to practice new things, and also recover some others that I've not done for many years, such as taking pencils and making more realistic notes, which I also really like the most classic drawing (it also has to do with the fact that I have been looking at old drawings of college years, horror and love in equal parts). I feel rusty with traditional techniques!! That's why this month I wanted to join the #birbfest, a challenge created by birdietam.art and organized this year by monkeymintaka. I'm already late, I don't have the goal of doing absolutely everything on a daily basis (I don't want to end up causing another burnout) the goal is enjoying and having a good time, making a drawing a day to warm up and sharing my process with everyone, and discovering every day what comes out. Live for a little hour in simpler times!
Ostara.
Bringer of spring, dawn, light and rebirth. On this equinox, light and darkness equalize.
Around here, although the seasons do not differ much, spring is already beginning to be noticed.
Goodbye 2023, a year of anxiety, of necessary breakups, of physical and emotional pain, of great changes, of learning. Also a year of goals and dreams fulfilled, familiar, of heartwarmth, and with that I will stay. So I welcome the new year expectantly, with enthusiasm, wanting to work hard on a beautiful path forward.
💫 Welcome 2024 💫
Happy New Year everyone, thank you for joining me on the path ♥️
This afternoon at 6:00 p.m. in the Canary Islands I will be participating in a live with @saloncomic within the Meetings with Authors organized around the "Illustradoras & Illustradas 3" exhibition, which can be visited in the art room of Parlamento de Canarias.
We will be chatting about various things from @saloncomic's Facebook Live, I'm excited!
My first embroidery!
I learned as a traditional artist, but in the last 10 years my work has been almost entirely digital. The feeling of rediscovering myself with manual processes has been wonderful: looking for the materials, stretching the fabric, choosing the colors, choosing the place for each stitch, treating the frame, sanding, dyeing… It was just going to be a test with colors and stitches but as soon as I started I couldn't help improvising something figurative! I hope to learn to create more complex figures, but I have discovered that this makes me very happy
This year I want to learn new things. And I want to go back to touching what I do with my hands, without screens between me and my work.
I'm learning embroidery 🖤
This beauty just arrived today! Salvajes is a fanzine of strange creatures, and this vol. III is dedicated to Samhain folklore. I am soooo happy to have been able to participate with two illustrations and two short stories, cause it is a very beautiful project made with effort and I couldn't like the theme more.
More info in @salvajesfanzine Instagram, if you're interested in purchase one of these beauties! 🖤
(Ignore my millennial teenager nails, I'm a cartoonist and one-woman band, it's not my time for the influencer thing 🙃)
