The Puppeteer knelt to collect a handful of sand, trickling it through her fingers as she got a feel for the texture. She had seen something like this maybe once before, but it had been so long ago she hardly remembered it.
But as she rose to stand upright once more she was reminded that the granular substance wasn't the only thing exclusive to this file. The shrubs, the twisting mountains, the colors on the horizon--everything felt so foreign. It would be worth exploring this place, even if only for just a while longer.
