We really need to commit to posting about our specbio project more consistently. Here's some of our newest designs, called Ruroes, and their housecat sized co-sophont species called Tekmites. They live on a weird little tidally-locked swamp moon

#specbio#speculative biology#speculative evolution#aliens#sophonts#worldbuilding#noisy void#ruroes are big eyeless egg eaters. their tongues function as hands and they have surprisingly good balance#tekmites are basically if tick eating birds and mole crickets had a baby that domesticated itself like a housecat and understands taxes#they're still very work in progress so i haven't fully settled on what they look like#the two of them have a very symbiotic relationship that essentially is what helped them develop sapience at roughly the same time#they're at a roughly medieval level of technological advancement pre-contact
