I spent about 2 months at an organic farm in Amador county, California this past spring. One of the more rewarding experiences of my life. Work traded for a place to sleep and food in my belly. No money involved, my kind of place. Learned more about becoming self sustainable and being totally self sufficient off the grid. Work trading is a great way to travel on a budget. You get a free place to sleep, plentiful food, and learn some skills. All while connecting with other travelers along the way. The llamas name is Pedro by the way

I love beer. It’s honestly a food group for me. When I’m traveling, I’m always on a budget. I’m not rich and don’t want to be. I like living this lifestyle of figuring things out things as they come, and not having a lot of money to fix my problems. Sometimes a 12 pack of cheap beer is a good way to get calories and also relax after a hard day. The kind I used to get was 5.99 for a 12 pack and the total calories were 2052. Split that into two days and a 99 cent loaf of bread and stolen butter packets, you have plenty of calories to survive on the cheap. It’s not glorious, but it’s a way of life that lets me do and see the things I want. Now, having said that, I love good beer! And I’ll take that over cheap beer any day
