#day17 I feel moved to encourage people to read @yoga_girl 's posts from the last few days. This woman always writes the real stuff, the things that matter once you strip everything else away, and in her last posts she talks about the importance of sharing the struggles in your life with others. Terrible things happen. And there is no explanation, no way to make things right, no silver lining that people are always banging on about. That moment is monstrous - nothing will diminish it. That experience. Those feelings. That pain. Monstrous. But by sharing we stop the moments from becoming thevmonster. It is in the past now, it doesn't live in the present. There are no monsters breathing under our beds or writhing in our closets or roaring in our minds. Say it out loud to yourself. Say it to a friend. Say it to a professional. Say it to the crashing waves. Keep saying it, keep sharing it, until the monster we create by keeping it locked inside breathes its last breathe outside of us. That moment was the monster.
