So here’s what i think, Sometimes your soul leaves your relationship before your body does. Because the soul is free, While the body is bound stay down, Blame words like loyalty and gravity. It’s crazy how quick things can go from “soul tied” to “so tired” You know you’re in trouble when you start forgiving people that ain’t even sorry. I call that “setting your own fires”. Sometimes your soul leaves your relationship but your mind stays. It starts playing tricks on you every day that it finds ways... To turn the other cheek instead of burning the bridges. Telling you things like, “just give it some time” or “do it for the children” But the truth “keeping the kids in a place you don’t even wanna be.” Sounds a lot like child abuse to me. I know that’s where you’re used to being. I know that’s where you’re used to going. But when what you’re USED to, looks a lot like what USED you. Subconsciously, you might have made your bed in hell and don’t wanna call the movers through. Sometimes your soul leaves your relationship but your heart sticks. It’s almost like we don’t know we even have a heart until it still loves somebody after they did some hard shit. Then we think it made our love stronger cuz we “got thru it.” Till it happens again, and we’re not even shocked to it. Then we find ourselves at fork in the road between feeling numb and dumb. But both are too dangerous for the ego so instead we run. To the DMs of this poet that we know will give it to us straight.
