Why do people believe they can replicate quadrant romance in real life? Especially kismesissitude? It's clearly shown in-comic that quadrants don't work for humans.

First of all it’s ironic that you mention kismesstitude especially, considering most of the canon examples of kismesstitude we get-- (Vriska and Eridan, Mindfang and Dualscar, Terezi and Gamz33)-- don’t work out, but the healthiest kismesstitude we s33 does-- and is, in fact, betw33n a human and a troll.

And while Karkat does state early on he’s unsure of whether or not humans can actually f33l pitch, that’s clearly refuted in the the fact that the healthy canon kismesstitude couple betw33n a human and a troll comes later.

As well as this, however, in canon, Rose develops ashen f33lings fur Gamz33 and Terezi’s unhealthy kismesstitude.

But I’d like you to k33p in mind that there’s only four humans we s33 that interact with the trolls-- this leaves a very limited oppurrtunity fur exploring dynamics regarding humans and trolls! We only have four to work with, and in reality people as a whole diffur a whole lot more than that.
On another note, Karkat and The Signless are canon examples of quadrants not working-- fur trolls. Generally speaking it’s regarded as “A love that transcends the quadrants”, but that’s typically what human romance is considered to be like.

Alright, there’s some comic examples fur you. Now as far as irl relationships go...
OOC: I, a human, have b33n in a moiraillegience fur nearly five years now. (Which, please remempurr, is not quite the same as a best friend.) I have also held pitch f33lings fur at least one purrson (before I even learned about Homestuck) and have had a friend who also had severely pitch f33lings.
Non-flushed quadrant f33lings happen! Or at least, something very akin to it, and sometimes the best way to explain those f33lings are using a system of romance not typical fur humans.
And hey, if it makes people happy, and it’s not hurting anybody, I don’t s33 the harm. (You can also look through my datetime tag to s33 some irl quadrant happenings that are purrfectly healthy, if you wish.)
Some humans can experience quadrant-related f33lings, and some trolls never do, but that doesn’t make it necessarily impawsible fur the entirety of a species!
And if it makes people happy, I think it’s purrfectly fine. Human monogamous pan-quadrant romance is tiresome anyways, so it’s fun to shake things up.
