How exactly does one tell if they're aromantic, opposed to not meeting the right one yet? Like I had crushes when I was younger, but I never really cared about finding 'The one' and now it just doesn't seem to interest me at all, and I'm really just trying to figure it out.
hmmm... aromantic means you don't feel romantic attraction at all. so if you don't feel romantic attraction go for it.don't let any vague "what if" that is in the future keep you from identifying as something. Maybe my homophobe older brother will marry a guy some day it could happen. that doesn't make him any less straight right now.
I think wanting to find "the one" isn't even that much of a romantic issue. the one could be a friend, a sexual partner, a romantic partner... or no one at all. we get told that there's "the one" out there who will make us complete but no one tells us that we don't need anyone. we're complete by ourselves.
If you don't feel romantically attracted to anyone ever* go for the label. labels are for you and if it feels right, use it.*right nowif you're not interested in exclusive relationships at all, maybe non-amory is a word that you should look up. it's the lifestyle of not having "relationships" at all. it's a bit of the opposite to polyamory (having multiple partners at a time)
