i haven’t written anything in the past two months and i really want to work on this fantasy novel but like i always talk myself out of it due to self doubt?? like it’s so dumb because it’s first draft but like i’m staring at the doc ready to write and i just get so in my head about it

oh god i feel like i'm losing it i've listened to musicals for so long but lately even songs i know well make me unusually emotional? like in a stomach-churning way? i heard the song Aldonza from Man of La Mancha for the first time today and was so disturbed that i looked up the plot synopsis to see if Aldonza's character really has it that bad and holy shit does she ever. to be fair i've never seen the musical or movie but my god the whole thing sounds heartbreaking

i'm not one to be overly bothered by fictional strife but damn if i didn't think about her all day and feel sick
