Random Question

Out of curiosity,

Have any of you (my followers) watched the show 'Lark Rise to Candleford'?

It is a British period-piece show based on the memoirs/books of a writer named Flora Thompson - it is based on her early-life (note; the characters do not share the irl names of the people it references.)

I watched it years ago with my dad, and am now re-watching on Hulu.

I know I have some followers/readers that enjoy my Jane Austen stuff; and just Jane Austen in general. So I am curious if it happens to be another show anyone that follows me enjoys, or might be interested in my writing for?

This is also a question for people who might happen to see this post in the tags search; I write reader inserts - so if anyone is interested in this let me know

And for those who like Period-Pieces or things like Jane Austen; this is also a recommendation to check out the series. It has 3.5 seasons, and unfortunately was abruptly cancelled in the middle of season 4.

Anytime I write for a period piece, I find myself channeling Jane Austen, and suddenly my writing style is that of a 18th century author lmao.

It doesn't help that I am currently reading Sense and Sensibility. I find myself using vocabulary that I would never use normally.

Perhaps it just helps to make the fics I'm writing easier to get involved in.

Whatever, I'm not gonna change it too much, though I find myself pulling back a bit when I start monologueing in my head in a British accent that barely makes sense.

1. Which character do you relate to the most from your fandom? Hmmm, none of them particularly lol, but maybe Hardison the most? I feel like I'm kind of nerdy like him lol.

2. Which character do you look the most like? If I went off of physical characteristics I would say Quinn lmao, like maybe we could be related? lol

3. What is your favorite ship? Hardison x Parker

4. what is your favorite CANON ship? Still Hardison x Parker lol

5. who is your favorite character (and maybe why?) Eliot! He is great! At first he comes off super hard-headed and mean, but then you learn he is super sweet and protective, and very skilled in like, everything lol.

6. when you first think of the fandom, what image comes to mind? Eliot I guess lol, or maybe the scene when they are (i think in a park or something) and they come out of the fog as a group and it's really cool lol.

7. when did you join the fandom? I actually watched the show with my dad as it aired on tv the first time it came out. So, like 12/13 years.

8. WHY did you join the fandom??? I just really loved the show and the dynamics of all the character. And I am a sucker for a found family troupe.

9. what is your favorite fanfic for the fandom? I've never actually read any that I can recall lol. I am more of a fanfic writer than a reader.

10. what song do you associate with a ship? I don't have any.

11. what song do you associate with a character (or 2)? For some reason Old Town Road popped into my head for Eliot, but I'm not actually sure if it fits lmao

12. favorite hc for a ship, character, etc. Eliot has taught every member of the group how to cook. Particular dishes, that he knew they would individually enjoy.

Also, he is an angry nurse. Meaning, when one of the others get sick, he is really pushy and has a bad bedside manner, but still brings them medicine and soup and checks their temperature, even though the one who is sick never asked him too.

13. if you could be in the universe of the characters what would you do first? I would want to meet them, and remind them how good they are, and that all the bad things they may have done do not compare to all of the good. Sometimes I think they need to be reminded (especially Eliot)
