At some awards thing like the rookie of the year scene in episode one, where all the bro-y hockey chuds are like “Hey Hollander come do shots with us! Shots shots shots!” And he doesn’t want to look unmanly so he goes to the bar with them, and from across the room Ilya sees how uncomfortable he is so he strides over with all his swagger and confidence, stands in between them and loudly says to the bartender “I’ll have a soda.” Turns to the others, “I’m cutting back, alcohol is bad for aerobic performance. Hollander, maybe you should, too, if you want to keep up with me. Or maybe you lack discipline?”
“Fuck you, Rozanov. I’ll have a ginger ale.”
No one notices their meaningful glance or how grateful Shane is that someone gave him an out. His own friends didn’t do that, but his rival competitor did.
