What is inorganic?
Inorganic compounds are simple compounds which contain carbon. Salts of inorganic cations including carbonates, cyanides, cyanates, thiocyanates and carbides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide are some examples for inorganic compounds. There are so many everyday inorganic compounds such as water, salt (sodium chloride), baking soda (sodium bicarbonate), dietary calcium source (calcium carbonate), industrial grade hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid). Some examples for inorganic nutrients in food are potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulphur, iron, selenium and zinc.
What is organic?
Organic nutrients contain carbon in their structural makeup. Energy providing compounds such as carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, nucleic acids and vitamins are referred to as organic nutrients.

Organic vs. Non Organic Food:Is it worth paying extra for ‘Organic’?
Organic food cost more than non organic food. But is it significantly healthier? Is it worth the extra bucks? Dr. Smith-Spangler and her colleagues – from Stanford University, California – have tried to answer these questions by analyzing the data of 17 studies in humans and 223 studies of nutrient and contaminant levels in foods. In this article I will discuss their major findings, as well as recently published data, so you can decide for yourself: Non organic food: the only advantage is the price?… Nutrients - Few studies have suggested that organic milk and organic chicken may contain significantly more beneficial ω-3 fatty acids than conventional milk and chicken, thanks to the animals’ vegetarian diet. No differences were found in the protein or fat content of organic and non organic milk. 2. The levels of different vitamins and mineral (e.g., ascorbic acid, beta-carotene, vitamins A,E,C) were measured in organic and conventional products. Higher vitamin C concentrations were found in organic leafy vegetables (e.g., spinach, lettuce and chard) versus conventionally produced vegetables. However, no significant differences in general vitamin content were found between organic and non organic plant or animal products. Vitamin content is similar.
