I couldn’t possibly include all my trans hcs, bc I probably have at least one for every character in the show. So here are my most usually ‘canon’ ones - ones you can assume are at play in my art and writing even if it’s not stated outright.
The team watched them for a second before Suga stepped forward.
“Tobio? Are you little right now?” He asked softly.
The younger teen wanted to protest, say they were just a little off their game but their voice was already gone so silently they shook their head at him.
“Tobio. It’s not nice to lie to your big brother.” Daichi scolded lightly, taking his place next to Suga. “If you’re feeling little you need to tell us.”
They nodded, headspace slipping even younger by the second.
“Ok. I want you to go sit down near coach with Volley and you are going to take a nap. We can’t risk you getting hurt little one.” Daichi and Suga where guiding them over the wall by the door, where Volley was obediently waiting for his owner.
Suga was clearly trying to fight off his big brother headspace just a little longer, already a little protective as he turned to Daichi with authority.
“You go get their hoodie, stuffie and paci, I’ll wait with them.” He instructed, the captain nodding at him.
“Oh no, do we have a little Kages on our hands?” Ukai hummed with amusement.
Tobio nodded at him, blinking blearily up at the blond as their thumb found a way into their mouth.
“Baby Kages.” Suga corrected, his voice already sounding a little more childlike than before.
“My mistake.” Ukai chuckled lightly as Daichi returned.
“Arms up!” The captain cheered, Tobio raising their arms as their pride hoodie was pulled over them. It was large and soft, acting more as a wearable blanket than a hoodie.
Kyebear was being placed in their arms next before Suga popped their paci into their mouth.
“Ok Tobio, you take a rest and we’ll wake you when practice is over.” They nodded blankly at Daichi, leaning back against the wall to rest.
The two third years jogged back into the court, returning to their drills as Tobio silently cracked one eye open.
Ukai pretended he didn’t see it, continuing on with his coaching and making sure to keep Suga in task.
They all wanted them to nap, but if Tobio couldn’t practice, they at least wanted to watch.
His door creaked open, the hall light flooding in and waking him instantly.
The tall silhouette that stood in his door way was too easily recognisable.
“Tobio? It’s 3 am what are you doing?” Ah, sniffling. “Oh Did little Tobio have a nightmare?”
Their shadow nodded at him, bringing a closed fist up to wipe their nose on. Their other hand, Oikawa noted, was tightly gripping their stuffie, Kyebear, by the arm. Volley stood at their side, awaiting instruction.
“Do you want to sleep in my bed?” They nodded again but made no effort to move from the door way.
Oikawa shuffled out of his covers, slowly padding over to his little, holding out a hand for them to take.
After a moment of hesitation, Tobio gripped his hand, allowing themself to be led over to the double bed, littered with blankets and pillows.
“Do you want me to sleep on the floor?” Oikawa asked softly, only to receive a shake of his littles head. “Ok, upa get.”
Volley took his place on the floor, on the dog bed that had made its home in the olders room, for moments like these.
When he finally got Tobio settled, under their favourite weighted blanket and with Kyebear against their chest, he slipped back into his bed.
He lay on the other side, giving Tobio as much space as possible as to not crowd them.
Just as he felt himself beginning to drift off again he felt a pair of arms and legs latch onto him, pulling his back against his littles chest, like he was giant teddy bear to be cuddled.
He had to silence his ‘aww’ as to not wake Tobio as he twisted around, wrapping his arms around the little.
“You’re safe with me little one.” He silently breathed into the youngers mop of black hair.
Their hoodie was bunched tight in their fists, fingers rolling over the coins in the front pocket.
They had the right amount, all they had to do was grab it off the shelf, run to the self checkout, put the money in the machine and run.
They came to stop in the baby isle, staring down at the tiles of the floor as a distraction.
Where they really going to do this?
Glancing either side of themself, the looked up, trying to look nonchalant as they scanned the packaged baby bottles and chewy toys for what they came for.
Eyes falling to the pacifiers they felt themself freeze up. Someone was coming, they had to hurry.
They grabbed the closest one, regrettably blue, and bolted for the self serve.
Shoving the coins into the slot, they cursed under their breath each time they missed or dropped one.
Finally having it payed, they declined the receipt, shoving the small plastic package in their hoodie pocket and quickly made a beeline for the exit.
With quick footsteps, they made their way back to the house, panting and slightly out of breath by the time they got though the door.
“Tobio?” Oikawa aksed from the kitchen, making his way into the entrance way before taking the youngers face in his hands. “You’re all red, are you ok?”
The pacifiers felt heavy in their pocket, the fear suddenly flaring back up.
“Tobio What-“ Oikawa’s eyebrows came down together in confusion when he felt the lump in the front pocket of their hoodie. Carefully he pulled out the little plastic container, blinking at it with a blank expression.
“It’s not for me! It’s- uh?”
“It’s ok if it’s for you To.” Oikawa hummed as he turned the package over in his hand. “Is it for- ugh what’s the thing Yuri said? The baby thing.”
“Age regression...” Tobio mumbled, face red with embarrassment.
“Yea age regression. Is it for that?”
Tobio finally nodded, small and almost unnoticeable. Oikawa hummed to himself, slightly amused by the sight of a child’s pacifier before he noticed the shake in Tobios shoulder.
“Hey what’s the matter? It’s just a dummy.” He spoke softly, placing the package back in the youngers hands as they began to cry in ernest. “Shhh. It’s ok. You don’t need to be embarrassed about it. I think it’s great that you’re finding a healthy way to de-stress yourself.”
He paused for a moment before taking the package back and quickly unwrapping it. Now freeing one of the blue pacis, a little jellyfish printed on the button, Oikawa moved to carefully place it in the youngers mouth.
“Can I give you a hug?” Tobio nodded quickly, their arms still stuffed into the pocket of their hoodie as Oikawa wrapped his arms around them.
The fidgeted with the paci now in their mouth, a small sense of calm washing over them.
“If you where that embarrassed, you should have asked me. I would have bought it for you.” Oikawa hummed into their ear, holding them up as they began to feel a little boneless.
Kyotani wiggled out of his caregivers grip, sprinting out of his room into the kitchen with his stuffie, Liondog, gripped between his teeth.
“Kyoken bad puppy. Come back. I have to take your binder off before you hurt yourself.” Yahaba called as he wirily traipsed after his pup.
Kyotani dropped Liondog on the table, stuck out his tongue before grabbing the stuffie in his mouth again and leaping over the counter into the lounge room.
His little sibling, Kageyama, was sitting on a blanket, propped up by pillows and watching In The Night Garden with their service dog Volley curled up at their side.
It was meant to serve as a distraction until Oikawa got Ushijima back from his trip to the doctors, but it was quickly being interrupted by their brother almost crashing into them.
Kyotani wound himself around the regressed little, Tobio absently reaching to pat him on top of his head much like how they did with Volley.
Yahaba sighed, watching his pup wiggle about, thoroughly disrupting his little siblings down time.
“Kyoken. Puppy. Come here.” Kyotani once again dropped Liondog to give his caregiver a big toothy grin and a loud bark.
“Puppy.” Yahaba warned. “Stay...”
Kyotani seemed a little more predictable now his sibling was in the way. He nosed against their side, trying to get them to join in but Kageyama was too engrossed in the contents of their tablet.
Kyotani finally slumped down, tongue sticking out as he panted with exertion.
“I did warn you.” Yahaba scolded but he couldn’t bring himself to be too mad. “Up pup.”
Pouting as he did, Kyotani finally stood, lifting his arms above his head for Yahaba to remove his binder.
“Good pup.” He hummed as he pulled a loose fitting shirt over the boys head. “Now play.”
Liondog was back between his teeth before being flung across the room, Kyotani scampering after him with an excited giggle.
Yahaba looked down at Kageyama, who looked almost completely indifferent to the situation, long fingers aimlessly caring though Volleys hair now instead of their brothers.
Liondog flew past him, landing just a bit away on the floor. Before Yahaba could even turn to see his pup, he was tackled by the blond, who scrabbled over him to retrieve his playmate.
Maybe he should take him outside for play time... before something got broken.
“I’ve got you. I’ve got you little one. It’s ok.” Daichi hushed, pulling the first year into a tight hug, applying as much pressure as possible.
He remembered that from the notes Oikawa had sent him.
Tobios wails were still inconsolable, balled fists scrubbing their eyes as Daichi pulled them against his chest.
“I’m right here. Right here baby. Hush.”
He was glad Asahi had taken Suga outside. He was a terrifying older brother when Tobio was upset.
Volley was nosing his owner, trying to bring their attention back to either him or Daichi.
“I need you take in a deep breath sweetheart.” Daichi soothed. “Big breath in. Big breath out.”
A chocking and stuttering breath jumped from the little, their hands gripping into the back of Daichis practice shirt.
“Slower darling. Slower.”
As the youngers breaths came back to a more normal rate, they slowly began to sit up a little more, still occasionally stuttering out a sob in the process.
“Hey baby.” Daichi hummed. “I’m gonna walk you and Suga home ok? No more practice for today. I’m sorry it was too much.”
Tobio clearly wasn’t hearing him, wide, wet eyes staring at his nose instead of his eyes.
A shaking hand let go of the olders shirt, bringing it around to press the tip of their finger against Daichis nose.
Daichi blinked, a little startled, as the little stared back at him, occasionally hiccuping around a stray sob.
Carefully and slowly, Daichi mirrored their movement, poking them on the top of their nose back.
Tobio erupted into a fit of giggles, squirming around the captains lap as if they where being tickled.
Volley nosed his head between them, leaning back on his owner, who slowly bought their hand down to pat the dog on top of his head.
“You ready to go home now sweetheart?”
Tobio nodded distantly at him, eyes now focused down on Volleys fur and the pull strap of his harness.
“Does baby need to be carried?”
The way Tobio clung back onto him was confirmation enough, so Daichi forced himself up, the little still gripping onto him in a koala hug.
He grabbed Volleys lead, other hand propping up Tobio just under their thighs.
Sorry I haven’t posted much, it’s been madness, What with work, new job applications, getting my new house set up for when I can move and having my birthday I haven’t had much time to just chill.
