Nothing is taken away by Mizu being genderqueer. I think you do the story a disservice by focusing so heavily on their "womanhood" when Mizu and the story is so much more. I'll share a snippet of my paper "The Nearly There Genderqueer Representation of Blue Eye Samurai"
