Top six favorite shows?

Okay, for this one, my top 6 favorite shows, I tried really hard to think about… if I could only watch six shows for the rest of my life, what would I choose? These shows are all *in* me in some way.

This is ranked by how essential this show seems to my existence/sanity/happiness, at this moment in time.

Have you looked at the DragonCon schedule yet/know what events you are going to?

Hey there! I have looked at the Dragoncon schedule and I've used to app to mark down which panels I'm interested in, but I won't really have a firm idea of what I'm definitely going to until maybe Wednesday or Thursday, more so when I can go over with my group in regards to what everyone else is doing. I'm a bit overwhelmed by how much is going on - it's my first time going to Dragoncon and I've never been to a con of this size before. Or of this diversity. Usually, it's all one type of thing instead of... thirty things. But hoping to have fun regardless of the anxiety! Most of my schedule has a lot of the events from the costuming and writing track on there along with a handful of random things, like the Mario one Friday (we're all showing up in cosplay for that hopefully), the Good Eats panel, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show performance. I’m usually big on panels where I’ll learn something as opposed to ones that are just for fun, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like the fun ones. Other than that, lots of walking around, probably looking at vendors and art stuff and hopefully meeting new people via cosplay, because that’s one of my favorite things to do :D I think you commented on one of my posts about going? If so and you see me, feel free to come up and say hi! I’ll try not to be overwhelmed by, you know, all the people everywhere, but I am genuinely excited and would love to say hi :D

I’ll make a post about it later, but my tentative cosplay are:

Princess Peach from Mario Kart (there will be a group of six of use with crochet props... probably throwing them at each other. I will have a bob-bomb!)

Twili Midna from Hyrule Warriors (also all six of us will be in Zelda cosplay!)

Satsuki Kiryuin from Kill la Kill (solo cosplay... more or less 6′ with the heels on)

Canti from FLCL (with my friend who’s doing Haruko... with the guitar, too!)

Glynda Goodwitch from RWBY (with my friend who’s doing Professor Ozpin)

Julia from Cowboy Bebop (this group is tentative. I don’t know if we’ll still do it. It SHOULD be me, Faye, and Spike, but it might just be me and Faye or we might not do it. Which is fine, I have plenty of other cosplays)

Hey, do you use a fidget tool and if so is there one you would recommend? I have seen a cube and a spinning thing but the spinning thing looks like it would also be distracting to others so I am kinda worried about getting it.

i actually have a bunch of fidget toys! if youre worried about distracting other people, i definitely recommend the fidget cube. the smooth side is really calming and completely silent and the rolling ball is silent as well and it helps me with restlessness. i mostly use chewable necklaces to stim when im out and about, but you have to not mind other people noticing. i hope i could help!

I had a session that was about 16-20 people and once I had only one student show up. I don't think it was bc of me though because that session was notoriously lazy and my other two were always active and well attended.

I was glad that my other session later in the day was full because only seeing a few students show up can be really disheartening! It was actually kind of fun though because the people that did come were super engaged and asking lots of good questions. Teaching to one person would be even weirder though. At least that student basically got their own private tutoring session!

What's your favorite book?

Probably “Where the Red Fern Grows” based on how much I’ve read it. I don’t read all that much though.

For the character ask if you are still doing them, Aranea Highwind and Rydia of Mist please!

Of course I’m still doing them! :D many thanks for asking! I think Aranea is that girl from XV? I haven’t played any of XV, so I won’t be able to do her, but I will gladly do Rydia!

My first impressions of them. So PRETTY! :D But also oh no, I want to give her a hug! And OH DAMN, SHE'S GOT SOME SASS TO HER!

What I think of their design. Rydia is absolutely gorgeous. She's some dream cosplay material for me. And I love how her look down the road inspires things like Yuna's design. It's so GOOD!

What I think of their role in the story. Rydia's story broke my heart, but I love how she grew up from all of it and inspired others. And her time in the Feymarch was so cool and made her even more interesting.

What I think of their interactions with other characters. Rydia is just priceless. I forever cherish her with Cecil. I can only imagine how hard it was for both of them after Mist was destroyed. I imagine him being a new father figure for him and Rydia down the road flailing pompoms for him :) and her interactions with Rosa are also so so sweet, same with Edge. I mean, how can you not love her interactions with Edge?! XD

My favorite aspect of the character overall. I love how she's been through so much at such a young age and continues to push forward, but she's still vulnerable. I always resonated with that aspect of her :)

What could have been improved or changed with regards to the character. I can't think of any. Rydia is pretty damn flawless.

My number one wish for this character. That she lives happily ever after, whether it's in the Feymarch or with Edge or somewhere out there in the world. I just want her to find her place and feel at home after everything she's been through.

sure, you can follow me if you like! and sleep hygiene is stuff youre supposed to do to make it easier for you to fall asleep and stay asleep at night. its stuff like using your bed only for sleep, not eating within a few hours before bed, having a bedtime routine you follow every night, not using screens for an hour before bed, not drinking caffeine after noon, going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, etc.

I'm sorry i missed this update. was going through my own depressive mood. Just wondering, have you looked into jobs you can get with a masters? I think there are ways out there to use your brain and be mentally active without the shit life that is academia. Been trying to figure ot out myself as well since i am also not on top of emails/lab notebook etc but worry about settling into a job i find mundane & being miserable the rest of my life. I am here if you want to talk

unfortunately I don’t have a masters and just finished the first year of my program; it will take another year of being in the program before I could drop out with a masters. :/

but it’s definitely something I’m considering longer term, if I manage to stay in the program for another year.
