What region of Middle-earth would you like to explore?

i guess (since i’m not a great nature-lover) i’d love to visit minas-tirith or go to rohan (look, the elves & dwarves are cool but i kinda would probs feel more comfortable around humans. humans are easy) idk or see the isengard/mordor industries lmao
(i probably wouldn’t survive a month in ME but if i’d be a better, more suited for medieval-ish times person, i’d go to far north. or smuggle self to valinor to see what’s the big deal about)
(but actually knowing me & my attitude for travelling i’d just stick up at rivendell & do nothing but abusing the local wi-fi & drinking wine till someone’ll kick my useless ass out)

hello, anon(s)!! these are some excellent questions & i'll do my best to tell you some useful & coherent information on the subject:
ie Catrina's magic depends highly on the well-being and happiness of the souls in the land of the remembered - higher their spirits, more powerful she becomes; though she can't use her magic to hurt anyone. that's like THE LAW. Xibalba, on the other hand, gains power in misery and the felling of helplessness etc)
SO. about the travelling thing: both of them can pass through the underworld realms, though the action itself slowly sucks the life out of them - the bond with the dead lands becomes stronger every time they cross the underworld's border. of course, the dead keep their secrets & artifacts which both Catrina and Xibalba would like to own, but the price of searching for them is often too high
(also Manolo and Joaquin aren't the only familliars they own, the more channels one has, the tighter the bond with the dead lands)
(2) RESIDENT MAGICIAN: San-Angel had never belonged to any of them, though Xibalba showed up there a couple of centuries earlier. The resident magicIan(s) (a dynasty of them really) of the place prefer to keep neutrality, since they're not interested in the DEAD people
(3) A HEALTHY RIVALRY: They don't hate each other, though have a very little respect for each other's methods/interests/hairstyles. also Xibalba wasn't very friendly towards Catrina during their first meeting so.. the bad first impression was left.
In the Spirits AU, did La Muerte and Xibalba have any prior relationships or were they always rivals? Will they ever become friends? Will there ever be a fanfic of this AU?

1) in this AU they hadn't prior relationships. i mean they were AWARE of each other's existence but some factors & difficulties (such as the conflicts of territorial interests) kept them on a distance.
2) i'm sucker for 'rivals to friends/lovers' trope so yEAH I GUESS
3) oh boy. if i only knew how to write things. anyway, heads up, i'm PLANNING to make a comics outta it once the rl things will settle up. ANYWAY, if anyone'd be inspired enough to write a ficlet about this verse, they're absolutely free to do it & ask me abt details or just go wild & so on
