Saturday, 3/24/18. I proudly took the #NoNRAMoney Pledge at the March for our Lives, HB.
Didn’t take any selfies, but I think this was more important. Never ending support for #msd and every single victim of #gunviolence . End gun violence. Gun reform. Take out the #nra . Universal healthcare. Better mental healthcare. Save our kids. Lives over money. This is why we march. As Ghandi once said , “be the change you wish to see in the world”, and today I saw so many people taking a step towards change, so much love and compassion that we were all united in. We are the future. Remember to vote in November. Never again. • • • #neveragain #enough #enoughisenough #gunreformnow #msd #msdstrong #marchforourlives #nraisaterroristorganization #endthenra #nonramoney #parkland @marchforourlives #wecallbs #dontshoot #powertothepeople (at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School)
"For far too long America has allowed weapons of war to destroy communities. The #nra only cares about one thing: gun sales. It has tricked people into believing it’s about protecting the second amendment, but it’s real purpose is to lobby and buy politicians so laws don’t affect their bank accounts, all at the expense of young people’s lives. Ask your elected leaders and candidates to take the #nonramoney pledge today at NoNRAMoney.com. America can’t allow them to dictate your gun-control debate." #nraisevil

Gun control
Alright. Yes, the shooter could have commited this crime with a different weapon. But here's the thing- why are we so against making it easier to get a gun like the AR-15? Sure, they could try and make an explosive device, but the chances of them being caught is far higher than a plan in someones head to take a weapon and commit mass murder.
For everyone screaming that no one can take their guns away, that's not whay would happen. Banning the SALE of these weapons in the future is what gun control is calling for. Control. Not a ban. Because the thing is, there is no reason people should be putting their right to bear arms over the lives of kids.
The other argument I've heard (Rubio actually said it a well) is that even if we ban these weapons and attachments theu will be acquired legally. So how are we supposed to stop that? You don't. They get extremely expensive, which restricts who is able to acquire one. In 2014 prices in Australia for guns that used to be $2000-4000 are now at $15,000. They have guns. They have 2.75 million guns, 730,000 license holders. They are no where near our ranking for mass shootings. Automatics are totally illegal. So... yeah. Why don't we try that?
Sorry for the long post, but after seeing these kids who have lost so much being attacked on the news, and on facebook, I am sick. What is wrong with this country that we continue to have horrie events like this and still refuse to talk about the guns?! Not talking about them has very oviously done nothing.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Not looking at gun control and not adding new legislation is insanity. Your right to bear arms is not more important than our children's right to safety in schools.
