To follow up on the last one*

Tests would come back to show everything normal, I can easily change back and forth. But not yet by choice. I'm still a young pup so Im still learning to control the shifting. But you see it come back with nothing concerning and I stay in my room / kennel as you away results.

But I eventually change back to my normal self after a day or so, my room has changed. Its now got a bigger human bed but I still make do mt little ritual of scratching and rearranging it to be more "nest shaped" and curl up cutely at night. You ask the staff to keep an eye on me as this is the first time I've transformed to your knowledge and want to keep an extra eye on me and they provide you with photos of me transformed back a couple days after I came in, to let you know I'd changed back. I'm acting normal they tell you and I look around for toys to chew but end up just chewing one of the pillows instead. Not shredding. Just stim chewing till I get bored then sniff around curiously, probably howling for attention as I get bored of the same 4 walls.

I then hear steps behind the door and tilt my head looking at it, ears up curiously

I step through the door and greet you making sure to let you sniff me to see if I've trailed in any exciting smells. I check over you for any injuries, ruffling your fur as I go. You are unharmed but definitely in need of enrichment. I ask one of my assistants to grab some toys for your enclosure to keep you from getting too bored.

At a glance your vitals seem good and you aren't displaying behavior that indicates we should be worried. Now that we know you can transform your diet has a little more variety to keep up with the physical demands of transformation. It seems like you will eventually learn to control it but for now you're just a pup.

I let you know you've been so good for me through this process and I pet your head. We'll want to keep an eye on the frequency and intensity of your transformations to ensure you aren't experiencing any injuries or growing pain. And as you grow better able to manage your transformations we will work in occasional lessons in language and concepts to check your cognitive functions.

The assistant arrives back with the toys and I spend a little time gauging your interest in each and allowing you to pick which ones you like. After all, every pup has different things they're looking for in their toys so it's important to figure out what they prefer. I sit and play with you a bit before I have to go.

We leave your preferred toys in the enclosure with you and I talk a bit with the assistant outside before fully leaving. It was a good visit and I have high hopes for your continued development.

Wyd in the situation you find me on the list of pups to see but this time I'm a little more anthropomorphic. (Imagine a cute fluffy werewolf / furry like character)

I'm wearing clothes. Im average height but I'm a little shorter than you.

I've been brought here in puppy form but as I've stayed overnight. I changed forms in my sleep. One of the workers found me and obviously gave me some clothes to wear. All my ID is on my collar. So you know who and which puppy I Am.... even thought I still look very similar to my dog form. You've never seen me like this. I've only ever come to you in dog form, so I'm really shy and nervous.

(I don't speak but I do respond still with puppy behaviour like body language and puppy dog noises)

Transformation can be a very overwhelming and vulnerable experience. It can have a few causes so we would have to check you for each of them. First we'd get your height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate. This is to get a baseline for your vitals in this state as they likely differ from your standard form. Then we would check over your ears and eyes to make sure they haven't become irritated or damaged in the transformation. I would also run my gloved hands through your fur checking for any sort of injuries or pain just in case.

After that we'd want to get some blood work but it can be a bit scary having it done so differently from usual. If needed we could give you something to manage the anxiety whether that be a sedative or something to chew or hold. After the blood work I'd tell you how brave you were and how good you're being.

We would also do a cheek swab to check for genetic markers. I would pull out a sterile test kit and reach into your maw to swab your cheek. This would be an important moment of trust that you wouldn't clamp down on my arm. But I'm sure you would be good and let me get the swab no problem.

And you would be so good for me so of course you would recieve a treat. I would pat you on the shoulder and let you know it was nice to see you in my office even if you're different from before. In a few hours we would get back the blood work, and the cheek swab would come in 3 to 6 weeks. After analyzing both we would know the cause of your transformation and if you would be able to voluntarily switch back and forth or not.

I probably wag my little tail a little, still pretty low because I'm still nervous but I'd crouch and wag a little, happy but also showing my belly, to ask for rubs but also to show respect. Then i quickly roll over and scooch closer and show my belly again

I rub my gloved hand across your belly taking note of the sheen of your fur. It's looking good so I know the dining staff are feeding you well. We stay like that a while before you change position to your side. I ruffle the fur on your head and give you pats on the sides.

Eventually the assistants come to take you back to your kennel. Your checkup went well and you were very good.

Well I mean some textures are just too soft for doggy teeth to even grip! So I imagine softer shapes that are more pleasurable for humans and less popular for pups like me

But also too light and it feels like its not prey-like enough to want to play with it. So it'll get quite boring.

I know some sensory chews are way too soft and light and would require me to hold it still with my paws to chew for resistance... Which is probably another reason why shape is important. If it's one solid shape its harder for me to chew or play with and hold onto...

Electrical toys that buzz or pulse, would be interesting! But after a while It get pretty boring pretty quick after realising its not actually prey I feel, the initial excitement of a toy that's not completely still would be thrilling to discover! RUFF! Almost like chasing a little mouse or lizard! Or it squirming to get away. Though,,, maybe that might make me want to chew harder... and possibly break the toy... or be dangerous for me to chew on?? Either way would probably need staff intervention more often than non electrical toys. Gotta make sure I dont accidentally swallow something like a battery 😬 What do you think?

Particularly firm toys are definitely best as dog toys as too firm of a sex toy for a human can produce an unpleasant scraping sensation if there's texture on the toy. However past a certain level of softness they tend to become too floppy for both dog toys and sex toys. Most of our tested toys rank in at a medium firmness which makes them unfortunately quite decent as dog toys despite their intended purpose. As a result chewability testing is more about the durability of the toys than their desirability to dogs.

Electric toys are generally powered off and have no batteries in them during chew testing simply for safety reasons. We can't risk pups puncturing a battery or shocking themselves. This testing is also heavily supervised as electronic toys tend to sacrifice durability for their desired features.

We tend to assume that pets are getting to the toy when it is left unattended and therefore is off. For toys with removable batteries we also recommend not keeping the batteries in the toy when not actively in use. This is for the longevity of both the toy and your batteries. So we assume that the toy is being accessed by the pet during this downtime when it has no battery and is off. This also makes the toy less exciting to pets which makes them less likely to decide it's for them.

I'd imagine you'd also test on how long it takes for me to get bored of a to, cross refference what looks appealing to humanoid subjects vs pup subjects =3

So that manufacturers can make them both pup proof, but also pleasing to look at etc *inquisitive head tilt*

Absolutely! Although it can be hard to balance those two variables. Sometimes the overlap between good sex toy design and good dog toy design is simply too large to be avoided. For example let's consider texture and weight.

Some pups and people love texture in their toys and some find it overstimulating. So we can't simply add texture to the toys until pups don't like it because that will almost certainly be too textured for a good sex toy. After all it does go inside people and human anatomy tends to be rather sensitive to textural differences.

Most good sex toys can't be above a certain weight without becoming too cumbersome to use. Unfortunately the weight limits for dog toys and human toys are rather similar. This means we can't just add weight until pups don't like it either.

It's a fascinating process really. Trying to find the optimal toy that pups will be less inclined to chew on is complicated and nuanced. Which is why our nonsexual testing teams are so valuable.

Ooooo chewing tests you say?? I can test the chew-rability of stuff for you. *lil butt wag, play bowing and spinning around excitedly* as long as anything I chew has been properly cleaned ofc. I'm very sensitive to textures too, so I could also tell you what materials would be best make things designed to avoid me chewing them. (Along with other pups ofc!) =P =3

When our product partners send us toys some are separated specifically for chew testing. This is to ensure that we don't use the same toys for chewing as we do for sexual testing to avoid any sort of contamination. Keeping things sanitary is important to maintain safety in the lab environment.

During chew testing pups are given a toy and allowed to play with it until they either get bored or break it. Toys are then rated on a scale of 0 to 10 based on how much damage they sustain during testing. 0 indicates major damage such as pieces tearing off or the toy breaking in half while 10 indicates no real damage done. Scores are then sent back to the manufacturer along with sexual and nonsexual testing performance data to allow them to see where the product needs improvement.

We run this testing on all silicone or other body safe rubber products. Obviously glass and metal products would be bad for our pups teeth so they don't get chew tested. Instead they are put through testing by machines to see their durability to things like drops or crushing forces.
