This was my bday lunch haha I ordered via Skip from Delicious Pho. This is the bun bo hue with Vietnamese iced coffee. The bun bo hue was ‘separated’ when I got the delivery, & then I just assembled it in my usual noodle soup bowl. Everything was so fresh; not to mention a very generous amount of ingredients. I also really liked the flavour of the broth. It’s always a good sign when it’s not greasy but has a good kick :D I also really liked the iced coffee. I haven’t had coffee with condensed milk in a long time so it was so satisfying. Would definitely order the bun bo hue from here again. Probably my new favourite now!

perilla & chili pot noodles

New item alert at Hmart!

I have tried other noodle kits by this brand before but this dark / black packaging is a new line by O-food. Was very excited to give this a try bcos I love perilla powder. It's not very versatile though =( so what happened with my bag of perilla powder from way back was that it spoiled... exposed to air & then it became non-edible. It was been a long time since I have had perilla powder :')

The noodles were the thick kind & even though this is one of those "instant" kits, I do recommend changing out the water & not use the actual noodle-cooking water for the broth. There was a lot of starch present. Of course, if you like that, then go ahead.

YUMMM! Broth flavour was good; it wasn't as spicy as I'd thought. The noodles were bouncy so I really liked them.

& you know me - this wasn't enough for a meal haha

Added bokchoy & hot pot fatty beef to it.

Highly recommend~ Hope you guys have a nice wknd, wherever you are.

naengmyeon with garlic stem

Picked this up from Hmart: seasoned garlic stem banchan

I’ve had many of their banchans but this was a 1st for me.

They kind of look like burdock roots a little.

I don’t think I have tried garlic stems ever. I was imagining that it would have a similar taste & aroma as garlic but they do not. Not sure if it’s just bcos this was a banchan but it was so crunchy! Crunchy but a little fibrous. Is that the right term? I don’t even know. Kind of like. .. celery? Crunchy but you get those shreds that sometimes get stuck between your teeth. But thickness like a green bean haha. It was good!

Had to consume it ASAP as it was reaching its BB date. I used the last bit for naengmyeon!

I thought it paired well with the naengmyeon!! & the cucumber. The flavour, the texture. .. it all came together. Gonna use it for this again in the future. YUM!

Mi Goreng by Mi Sedaap

I love trying new instant noodles......... !!

My brother got me a few of these to try. It’s mi goreng, which is a Southeast Asia-based stir-fry noodle dish. This one in particular is hot & spicy; there are other flavours as well.

The contents: a small noodle brick (it’s really small...... totally like snack sized), a powder pack & another packet that contains 3 smaller portions of sauces... and also. .

ANOTHER seasoning pack that I discovered when I took out the noodle brick. So much stuff!!

I really liked the flavour. Mainly bcos it’s something diff! But I was disappointed by the lack of spiciness =( Indonesian spicy is pretty spicy from my understanding so when they say “hot and spicy”, I expected a good kick but no. .. so mild. So so mild >.<  The overall flavour I got was a soy savoury flavour that I would love to have as a fried chicken sauce! Other than the good flavour, the noodles were mediocre. I typically don’t prefer dry instant noodles so mehhh..
