Potassium is a vital nutrient for plants; that's why stuff like saltpeter (Potassium nitrate) is used as fertilizers. On the other hand, you have expressions like "salted earth" which shows how Sodium isn't as good at this.

If we take the atomic radii as the cattos' heights Potassium would be quite a bit larger than Sodium. Which is fun for shipping purposes of course.
