John sighed heavily, his back to the front door of their flat. He could walk up the stairs and return. But he had enough of Sherlock being right all the damn time. He dug his hands deeper in the pockets of his jeans, his breath appearing as he exhaled with annoyance.
He took out his phone, Contacts - > Sherlock -> New Message -> Options - > Cancel
Contacts - > Sarah - > New Message - > Could I sleep on the Sofa again tonight? -> Options
He could just return upstairs to his room. Like the so many times he did before. His finger wavers above the send button. He could just go upstairs and ignore Sherlock for a couple of days. He could also go to Sarah’s and maybe give another try with their relationship. But he could also go back to Sherlock and his flat and make some tea and forget about the whole fight.
-> Send.
He starts walking towards Sarah’s place, fingers defrosting in his coat. His phone buzzes, his heart flutters, hoping it’s Sherlock texting back. His lips form a small pout as he reads Sarah’s answer that he’s welcome to stay the night. He texts back a thanks.
Before turning onto the main street, he looks over his shoulder to 221b Baker Street. The lights were still turned on in the living room and now in Sherlock’s room.
John stares at his mobile, his fingers itching to send some sort of message to Sherlock
Contacts - > Sherlock - > New Message - > I’m staying over at Sarah’s. - >Options -> Cancel.
Serves him right, John thinks as he digs his hands back into the pockets of his jeans. His right hand clutching at his phone so tightly that his knuckles are probably white. He keeps on walking away from Baker street towards Sarah’s flat.
