Story

So in this verse, Nora’s initial backstory stays the same. She leaves her family in the empire and joins the traveling caravan. However, when they stop in Insomnia, Nora falls in love with the city, and in love with the Kingsglaive. Everything about them is, she finds, what she wants to be. Noble, with a cause, protecting what’s important to them. The King and the royal line of Lucis.

So, as a big ole fuck you to her empire-supporting family, and as a way to truly make herself useful, she volunteers to join the Glaives. She’s around 20 at this time. She is initially extremely against Regis making peace talks with the empire. Having come from Accordo and having met some of the Empire’s people herself, she knows how backwards they can truly be. However, she feels that being so new and unfamiliar with both the king and the other Glaives, she keeps her mouth shut and decides to support the king as best she can.

She’s outside the city, having been sent on somewhat of a newbie mission for an easy observance mission to keep an eye on the Empire’s forces, when Insomnia falls. She hears about the attack on the radio, and like the other Glaives, can feel the moment her powers are stripped away. She is so consumed by guilt -she felt that she could have done more, perhaps spoken up- that she goes into hiding, even going so far as to rejoin the caravan for the time being. However, she can easily be recognized by other former Glaives or people who were in/around Insomnia.

After she gains her powers back, she feels that she’s being given a second chance to do what’s right. As darkness falls, she travels to Lestallum and meets up with other Glaives to fend of daemons and Nifs alike, and she does so with much gusto.

About Glaive Nora

Glaive Nora, before the fall of Insomnia, is very happy go lucky. She feels that she’s found her calling and does all tasks assigned to her with a smile on her face. She still partakes in dancing, usually to entertain herself and her glaive companions.

When she learns of the betrayal that caused the fall of Insomnia, she’s filled with rage, both toward Drautos for murdering the king and staging the coup, and toward herself for not doing more. This hate manifests as reckless abandonment for her own personal safety.

She hides away her Glaive garb, but dons it once more when she leaves for Lestallum, hoping to restore faith in both the Kingsglaive and in herself.

Combat

With King Regis’ blessing, like all Glaives she can use magic, has access to the Armiger, and can warp (at least until he dies and then when Luna awakens the old gods). She is adept at shielding magic and sometimes uses offensive magic to augment her gauntlets, Though this isn’t without consequence. To warp, she makes use of small knives that she can throw with ease to move to her opponent to punch and kick at them. Her secondary weapon is a Khukri.

Her Kingsglaive outfit is pretty standard, save for the steel gauntlets she can materialize from the Armiger. These gauntlets are fashioned after Lions’ heads. If she’s fighting Niflheim’s forces, she’s wearing her hood- which is trimmed in gold fur resembling a lion’s mane- and a face mask that covers everything but her eyes.
